City of Sandy Springs PLUS

It is 8 PM on Saturday evening and the weather has cooled off a bit. It would be wonderful if we could sit on our back deck and enjoy the weather but we cannot because of the moaning and groaning out of repair air conditioning units at Life Center Ministries. These AC units are a nuisance because they are so loud that they prevent us from the peaceable enjoyment of our property. That is the definition of a nuisance. This also violates Sandy Springs City Code. Yet, the City will not enforce the code in this situation for some reason. Just this year, his nuisance has been reported since March. It is now the end of August and I and my neighbors along Mt. Vernon Road and Ryefield Drive are still playgoers with this nuisance. Why will the City not enforce the code and stop this nuisance?

The below vehicles are classified as Junk/Abandoned vehicles under city ordinance based on reasons cited below. They are currently parked at 6125 Roswell Road in the Resident parking garage (The gate is open off of Boylston Drive to access). Both vehicles have been sitting for over a year and have no current registration or insurance and the apartment complex has been unsuccessful in having them removed. Per ordinance these are non-complaint even on private property.

Resident has had excess construction materials stored in view in their yard for multiple months. Variance for work was denied but the work materials remain. This appears to be in violation of ordinance for “Outside Storage Not Associated with a Use or District”

Strange, red van has been parked since this past weekend, so 5 or 6 days, parked against traffic and near a fire hydrant.

Earth moving activity with machinery and many many loads of earth and materials poised for use on site. No apparent active land disturbance permits for new accessory structures.

Foundation issues and windows issues Cause leaking in apt when it rains. Mold and Mildew. Leak in closet where hvac unit is housed. Mold and Mildew. Kitchen ceiling issue from leaks. Never treated. Reported to leasing office in emails and verbally in person to no avail. Moved in on 7/14/23 . Also have pictures and videos

This property has been empty with boarded up windows for about a year. Someone reported the eyesore in January and the yard was cleaned up, but it has not been touched since and the weeds are awful again. Not only is it ugly,but those untended weeds are blowing into the surrounding properties. Home owners have a responsibility to maintain their property and it adversely impact the neighborhood. Please insure the yard is cleared of the overgrowth. I am also concerned about an empty, boarded up house attracting vagrants and vermin. The house is not inhabitable—shouldn’t it have to be torn down or refurbished in a reasonable timeframe? It is on the main thoroughfare to City Springs. Not a good look for our city. Thank you for your attention to this ongoing issue.

Abandoned lot. Tall grass not maintained. Eye sore

Dump trucks dumping loads at Rockhaven development site on Mitchell Rd at 8:00 in the evening. Rockhaven is not a good neighbor. They ignore working hours on a regular basis. On Tuesday morning at 7:00AM they started up their equipment and started work. Are they're any consequences for their continued failure to comply with your regulations. Do you people enforce any of your regulations.

Our neighbor has been performing construction on their basement for several months now and recently they Have their contractors working until after 9 PM every night. The contractors resume work around 5:30 in the morning which is when I leave for work. This is gotten out of hand. I live at 5971 Hilderbrand Dr. and it is my neighbor to my left (if you are facing my home) who is closest to Hammond Drive.

I submitted a maintenance request for this light switch to be repaired on 12/21/22. No one has been here to address it. I would fix it myself but, 1) I don’t want to get electrocuted, 2) I don’t want to break it and then be charged for it 3) it’s not my job. I can’t get anything fixed in my home without a code enforcement complaint.
