Hello Natick,
We live at 195 Eliot Street. At the end of our driveway, there is dense vegetation that obscures the view from our driveway (we cannot see cars coming down Eliot Street from the west). This causes our driveway to become a blind driveway.
On June 17, 2019, I made a left turn onto Eliot Street and a commercial truck sped down and struck the right side of my car.
We would like to inquire about two things:
1. Traffic signs & mirrors: Would it be possible to ask Natick town to put up traffic signs like "Slow Down", "Blind Driveway", etc around this bend? We would like to also inquire about the possibility of putting up a traffic mirror at the intersection of Eliot Street and South Street across from our driveway to help with visibility.
2. Vegetation pruning: We asked our landscaper to cut back the vegetation causing view obstruction. He said that much of this growth is American Bamboo, and that because the growth causes a significant safety risk, we should contact Natick town to ask if the town can help clear some of the vegetation.
We share this driveway with our neighbor at 193 Eliot Street. She has informed us that a few years ago, this curve in Eliot Street has cause dangerous problems, when a police car raced down and flipped into the Charles River. We would like to ask for the town's help in resolving the safety issue with this part of the street.

There have been 2 cars parked on Jefferson St. at Cottage St. on either side of the road. It makes it very difficult to turn onto Jefferson St. or to get out onto Cottage St. Now with the snow, it is even more difficult as the plows had to go around the cars. They have not been moved all week. I thought that during the winter months there was no parking on the streets. This is a dangerous situation as many times cars have had to back up so another car can turn down the street and it's also very difficult for the buses.

The past few weeks there is a generator operating 24/7 on the site. The noise causes sleep disturbance for our home and at least one neighbor. I do not believe it would meet the decibel specifications for overnight operation. Spoke with Building Inspector Eric Libby and was told that the generator was necessary because no electrical permit has been approved yet.....this project was started in March 2019 !!!!! Was also told that the builder wants to run it overnight for "security lighting". This does is not acceptable to us because the generator noise is too much and prevents sleeping. We would like to speak with/meet with the appropriate Town officials on Friday 11/8/19 to address this immediately. Call 508-494-6296 ( cell).

Morning, on Monday 08/02/2021 I took my kid and his friends kayaking at Dug Pond around 4:30pm. After paddling all over the pond for almost 2 hours, we headed back to where we put in. After reaching shore I hurt my right knee when trying to get out of my kayak. So instead of portaging the boats back up to the parking lot, or trying to back the trailer in a 2nd time in the narrow boat launch.

I pulled the car down to the side of the road near the boat launch. The kids and I then loaded all 5 kayaks onto my SUV and the trailer. I then went up to the front of my SUV to attach the support ropes as the kids drove off in their car. While attaching the ropes I got scratched on some of the brown dried grass.

Then on Tuesday my leg was itchy and had I few soars on them from loading the kayaks in the tall dead grass. Thursday my leg had soars all over it and had started seeping. In all of my years of camping (61 yrs old) and going down trails I have never ever gotten Poison ivy, matter of fact neither has my brother (57 yr old), or my father (83 yrs old). And according to my father, his father had never had it either.

I figured even though I had never had a reaction to poison ivy, oak or sumac, that maybe some how I had gotten it. Then Thursday 08/12/2021 my left foot swelled up.

Monday 08/16/2021 at 3:30pm I set up a doctors appointment because I had numbness in my toes and heal on my left foot. I was then put on a very strong steroid and sav to help with the pain and swelling.

Tuesday evening 08/17/2021 around 8:00pm, my wife was reading Facebook (Natick Talks group) that several residents had complained about Natick Public works using Rodeo weed killer down town. So I checked their website to see that they listed the weed killer as safe for children and pets, then you read that to use the proper PPE to mix and apply it. = )

Monday 08/23/2021 I went in to Newton hospital to be checked for blood clot(s). Luckily I didn't have any.

Tuesday 08/24/2021 - So I stopped back at the location where this happened. I noticed lots of dead plants and leaves in nice sized piles. Which I find extremely unusual for this time of the year. I took pictures of all of the plants in the area checking for poison ivy/oak/sumac. I took the pictures to my mother in-law who is a plant person and she saw no signs of poison ivy/oak/sumac.

With all of this information, I would like to know if anyone else has had the same or similar issues.
After four visits to the doctors office and one to Newton Wellesley Hospital. I am still dealing with numbness in my toes and heal, as well as still having soars on my ankles.

Eliot allows ambulance companies to block the driveway. This is an ongoing issue the facility refuses to address. We have complained and we’re tired of complaining. Several cars pulled into the facility today 10/7/19 and were blocked for fifteen minutes. If another car pulled in they would have blocked 135 they need to do better.

I was served chicken nuggets at the Wendy's restaurant from a lady named Anna and she used her bare hands to grab the nuggets with NO GLOVES ON. This restaurant should be investigated, because if they are doing that in front of customers, who knows what else they are doing behind the customers view.

This past winter, the town snow plow destroyed the lawn along the street in front of my home at 11 Digren Road. I did my best to clear debris from the walkway but the lawn is in bad shape. I'd appreciate it if someone can come down and add new topsoil where the lawn was plowed away and reseed.

I have been shopping frequently at Dicks Sporting Goods and I’ve noticed that management could care less to keep the store clean. No one is cleaning, wiping down carriages, bathrooms aren’t clean all the time from what I’ve experienced. There are a lot of young workers on the floor especially down stairs where the clothing is, that aren’t complying with wearing their mask correctly. On two occasions I’ve seen huge boxes by the front doors blocking the entrance. Not sure if their peoples bought items or what. Why do they need to be by the door? This is a fire hazard.

I go to LA Fitness in Sherwood Plaza at approx. 530 pm everyday to work out. Every single day there are cars parked in the fire lanes - even when there are plenty of spaces to park your car. I have informed management of this issue on multiple occasions (over several months) and stressed the importance of keeping the fire lanes clear to no avail. I am afraid if there is an actual emergency the fire department will have a difficult time with emergency response measures. Please have someone look into this matter as it is putting the members of the gym in danger on a daily basis. Thanks so much in advance for your help regarding this matter.

Hi there, my name is Harleigh Sirafos and I gave away in the donation bin at Wilson middle school that had a very personal item in it forgetting it was there when putting it in the bin. It was a black purse like bag with a long yellow with writing on it kind of thing to put on your shoulder. If you have seen this bag please let me know.
