    Dogs outside barking for hours
  • 109 Sturges Street Medford, MA, 02155, USA - Medford
The dog has been out barking its head off since 5 AM. Owner nowhere to be found.

This family owns two dogs. The youngest one barks horribly and often, and the other barks as well, but she is older and less often outside. In the meantime, she is the most aggressive of the two and shows her teeth in a threatening way, given that the property does not have a fence to contain her if she someday decides to go after someone.
The barking has been constant for the almost 4 years I've lived at my address. It started with the older dog and got worse since the youngest dog was brought as a puppy.
It is disruptive to the point of causing anxiety and to affect professional lives since it's impossible to work, even with the windows closed.
I have politely complained to the family, but they have been unresponsive for the most part. Their answer is that "dog barks". I have been worried about complaining since it is a "friendly neighborhood" with people being respectful of each other, which is something I do not want to disturb. However, the barking has gotten out of control and happens from 6:00 am to midnight.
Even contractors and movers have complained about the noise, while spending a limited time at my place.
The dog barks at everything, primarily at anyone or anything (e.g. cars) passing in the street, but also when she is inside the house. The bark is loud and shrill enough that it can be heard through closed windows down the street.
I doubt those dogs are officially registered, and they certainly do not respect the limit of 10 minutes or less of uninterrupted barking. In a peaceful neighborhood, this dog ruins our quality of life, which is unacceptable.

There is a dog at this address that is let out on the back deck every afternoon around Noon'ish that is constantly barking - NON STOP for hours on end! I live a few streets over and work from home every day. This dog barks the entire time outside most of the afternoon and has been doing this since last year . It is very distracting and annoying while I am trying to work. So much worse when my windows are open. This is very inconsiderate of the owners - have some respect for your neighbors! I am now going on Hour 3 of this excessive barking - Please do something about this!

Spring St & Washington St Medford, MA, 02155, USA - Medford
People walking down Spring St, crossing Washington st, often find themselves in dangerous situations because of all the car traffic turning off of Spring onto Washington and vice versa. Very often cars speed into their turns, so some traffic calming measures would increase pedestrian safety. Specifically something as simple as painting a standard crosswalk here would certainly help and be a step in the right direction.

Woburn And Century/Wildwood Intersection Medford Massachusetts - Medford
Why are there no crosswalks at this intersection? The intersection itself is dangerous because of the way drivers have to curve as they cross Woburn to continue "straight" onto Century or Wildwood. Added to that, the stop signs are small and one gets hidden by tree brances. And worst of all, I walk this 2-4 times a day and at least twice a week see a car blow through the intersection without stopping. Curbs are also very high in spots where people naturally cross, making it hard for strollers/disabled to navigate the crossing in these spots. Overall, the design needs to be revisited with pedestrian safety in mind - especially since students of all ages walk this route getting to school/buses.

This was "resolved" but yet there is still no crosswalk painted in this spot. Not sure if this is common practice to just "resolve" something and not fix it.

This crosswalk was never repainted after repaving.

I put this request in 2017. I cross there frequently, often with kids. I see another request stating the same thing. What gives?
