City of Medford PIU

The crosswalk in this intersection is barely visible. I have almost been hit on many occasions both walking and driving through this intersection. Just today I saw a W.B. mason truck completely avoid the stop sign, which may have been prevented if he at least saw the crosswalk clearly. Please help make this intersection safer for residents!

There are multiple requests on see click fix about this crosswalk needing paint for over a year! I am calling the mayors office. I think Medford needs to get rid of See Click Fix and have a 311 system like Somerville. Enough is enough. Are we just waiting for a student to get hit before we address an issue that had been requested many, many times!

I posted this over a month ago and nothing has been done, so I will post it again! Each week there are very close calls with people blowing through the stop sign and not seeing the extremely faint crosswalk lines in the road. The crosswalk in this intersection is barely visible. I have lived on Marston street for 11 years and wow has our neighborhood grown. These last 4 years we have seen more and more kids ridding bikes, running and playing in Barry Park. A couple weeks ago a parents worst nightmare occurred. A young child, was hit by a car. Our street alone has 12 children under the age of 10. Cars, busses, trucks and even motorcycles are speeding down Marston, Gourley and summer street. So many parents worry that the outcome of another accident could be much worse. We would like to understand why speedbumps aren't on these streets? The white cones that were placed at the corner of Gourley and Summer do nothing as people move them around. 

I would Ike to understand what has to be done to get speed pumps put in on these high traffic areas.

The crosswalk at Essex and High needs to be repainted and it could also use a flashing light or some other way to control speed. Kids in the neighborhood are terrified to cross due to the number of cars that have sped by without even slowing down.

The crosswalk paint is faded and on such a busy street with speeding traffic the crosswalk needs yellow pedestrian crossing signs.

There is desperate need for crosswalk installation on this area of College avenue in front of the Joyce Cummings Center at Tufts. Safe access to the this highly trafficked building and the soon to open Green line station is seriously hindered by the lack of a nearby crosswalk. Pedestrians walk through traffic and dart between idling cars to cross the street to access the Cummings building. This will surely be exasperated when the green line opens next week, when only more pedestrian commuters will flood this area. The lack of a crosswalk here poses a serious risk to pedestrians. Vehicles are also in danger, forced to avoid jaywalking pedestrians. I hope that the city’s traffic and engineering department will prioritize the placement of a crosswalk in this area before a pedestrian is struck here.

Raised crossing needs painting

Whole bunch of crosswalks just got re-applied around here. The faded former crosswalk across Canal St. at Prescott still needs repainting, as neighbors keep reminding. Presumably one’s going to be applied across Prescott here—might as well replace the one across Canal, too.

Trying to reach bus stop by Mobil it's dangerous enough crossing here and with the faded crosswalk drivers don't stop. Please repaint

Pretty much all the crosswalks along High St. and adjacent side streets need repainting. Maybe we need to try better paint?

Also, when I post this stuff it asks me if it’s the same open issue from two years ago. May be time to close out old requests.
