There is trash all along Commercial Street, the road that passes behind Ocean State Job Lot. There is a guardrail installed in the pavement that presumably demarcates the boundary between the roadway and the back of the Ocean State Job Lot store or back alley or receiving area.

There is a profusion of very small litter, trash and man-made debris. This should not be the case. It should be picked up.

Elsewhere along Commercial Street, there is trash, litter and man-made debris on the side of the road, on the pavement, and co-mingled in the vegetation such as bamboo. Some of it is perhaps on private property, very close to the back walls of abutting buildings.

This entire site should be cleaned up. Then, the old pavement and other permanent structures would have a certain charm.

It may seem like a huge amount of work to pick up so much trash, especially because there are so many bits and small items. But the gain in improved environment would be commensurate.

Also, the owner(s) of this property should pick up the lot frequently or somehow get their customers to cease and desist from littering and illegal dumping. If it isn't customers they should find who.

This is an environmental justice issue. Shoppers here and motorists on Commercial Street deserve a roadside free of litter, trash and man-made debris.

The fact that this is a common problem though out eastern Massachusetts does not lessen its severity. Something must be done. We can not accept the status quo of litter everywhere.

It is on both public and private property, perhaps mostly public.

Five abandoned shopping carts along canal
  • 6 Washington Street Medford, Massachusetts, 02155 - Medford
second request as first request was just closed as resolved- shopping cart is still abandoned on the sidewalk outside of the entrance to the apartment building at this location. Facing the street from the building entrance it is to the right but it is pretty obvious since it is sitting on the sidewalk. Please remove thanks

Plastic air bag packing material, other plastic trash and beverage containers, etc. under the row of tall arborvitae along the chain link fence along Grove Street. The fence is by the Oak Grove Cemetery between the Grove Street entrance and the driveway for Brooks Estate (275 Grove Street) "next door," just to the north. There is a good bit of trash. But it seems to be mostly on the street side of the fence. Some of it is right against the fence, having been transported by the wind. It will require reaching through the branches of the planted shrubs and under the dry leaves which should be left in place to compost and as a mulch. But the plastic and aluminum trash should be removed.
