This is so overgrown, you can't get by in a wheelchair. There is a 2nd one just like this in front of the next house up growing probably to be as large as this. Shouldn't the sidewalks had to be ADA approved, etc.? Can't get by in a wheelchair. Same with a baby carriage - can't get by. This is not the only growth all along Fells Ave from the Fellsway up until maybe Vista Ave and Fulton Spring road. There is so much overgrowth all along the sidewalk and curbs. Medford is supposed to be a "Tree City USA" named by the National Arbor Day Foundation. You wouldn't know it driving up Fells Ave because no seems to take care of the overgrowth around the trees and/or tree stumps. This flowering growth and the one next to it is especially annoying because you practically have to go out on the street to get by - with a baby carriage on Fells Ave!

The red maple tree in front of the house has dead branch limbs that need to be removed. We are afraid during the next wind storm, they may fall causing damage or injury. One branch is next to the power line.

    On Crest Road.
Tree assessment was made in July but no action has been taken so far. Trimming was recommended by Tree Warden who determined tree was in fair to poor condition. Can this be done before the winter weather? Branches still falling.
    Thank you.

This might be a slightly odd request, but would it be possible to leave this stump/tree remains as is, instead of taking it the rest of the way down?
My reasoning is that vertical elements like this do act as a traffic calming measure, and speed is a real problem here. We have just lost four tall trees, and it takes awhile before new trees will grow as tall as this. So for the time being, could you just leave it standing?
Maybe we could even put reflectors or a "caution - pedestrians" sign on it.

Thank you for taking care of the trees that had been dropping limbs; we are sad to see them go, but they were a safety hazard.
