This house has piles of trash bags, constitution materials and a huge brush pile that is attracting rats. The piles of brush have been there for years. and the trash piles are starting to get bigger. It seems like a contractor is leaving construction waste here. The rat problem in the neighborhood is getting really bad and this needs to be taken care of.

The big item (a large clear plastic disposable drop cloth or similar sheet of clear plastic) was perhaps carried by the wind. So, it may or may not illegal dumping. See photo.

Nevertheless, there is other trash in the immediate vicinity and in the wider area. (I personally picked up a short length of High Street in the vicinity of St. Joseph's Church yesterday, before also picking up by Mystic Valley Parkway in the same vicinity, yesterday.) Most of those trash items are probably individual instances of illegal dumping or littering.

I request that at a minimum the large plastic sheet be removed ASAP. If they can get the some or all of other trash, too, that would be good.

Entire sofa cushions left on sidewalk outside 11 CENTRAL making it difficult to walk on the side walk.
  • 47-55 Canal St Medford, MA, 02155, USA - Medford

The yellow pylons in the roadway around the railroad crossing often have debris along them. There is also trash by the curbstones.

There is also trash on the Commuter Rail right of way, including large items such as a rug.

Now that the weather is nice, the group of people who party in the parking lot are back every night. Sometimes stay and party into the early morning. They litter the parking lot with empty beer bottles/broken glass and fast food garbage.

Also it's great to see softball is back, but the players trash the park every season. Last night was the first night of the adult league and there was an insane amount of garbage and beer cans left behind.

Between the adult softball league and the regular group that uses the parking lot as their party spot, the park is consistently trashed on a nightly basis. It's frustrating for the people who live in the neighbohoodrand want to enjoy the park in the early morning toeither walk their dog or go for a un. rThere's a group of early risers, myself included, who consistently spendmornings cleaning up trash.

Is there a way to contact the leagues to remind players to clean up after themselves? Can Medford PD also try to patrol/stop the people partying after hours? Thank you!

  • 50-74 Commercial St Medford, MA, 02155, USA - Medford

All along Commercial Street, between rte. 16 and Riverside Ave. there is trash on the side of the road, mostly hand size items and smaller, but also what appears to be a cracked porcelain bathroom fixture and a large section of used shag carpet.

This is the road that runs behind Ocean State Job Lot.

  • 16-16 Commercial St Medford, MA, 02155, USA - Medford

There is trash all along Commercial Street, the road that passes behind Ocean State Job Lot. There is a guardrail installed in the pavement that presumably demarcates the boundary between the roadway and the back of the Ocean State Job Lot store or back alley or receiving area.

There is a profusion of very small litter, trash and man-made debris. This should not be the case. It should be picked up.

Elsewhere along Commercial Street, there is trash, litter and man-made debris on the side of the road, on the pavement, and co-mingled in the vegetation such as bamboo. Some of it is perhaps on private property, very close to the back walls of abutting buildings.

This entire site should be cleaned up. Then, the old pavement and other permanent structures would have a certain charm.

It may seem like a huge amount of work to pick up so much trash, especially because there are so many bits and small items. But the gain in improved environment would be commensurate.

Also, the owner(s) of this property should pick up the lot frequently or somehow get their customers to cease and desist from littering and illegal dumping. If it isn't customers they should find who.

This is an environmental justice issue. Shoppers here and motorists on Commercial Street deserve a roadside free of litter, trash and man-made debris.

The fact that this is a common problem though out eastern Massachusetts does not lessen its severity. Something must be done. We can not accept the status quo of litter everywhere.

It is on both public and private property, perhaps mostly public.

Black face mask stuck in sewer grate in front of 38 Boston Ave. -- St. Raphael's Rectory.

I live next door and was picking up around the premises when I discovered a black face mask sticking out from the sewer grate. I was unable to remove it, no matter how hard I tugged on it. I am not sure how it was stuck like that, but perhaps lifting the sewer grate would help to dislodge it.

  • 85 Commercial Street Medford, MA, 02155, USA - Medford

Trash on both sides of the street, including by the 85 Commercial Street Warehouse which is crushed stone/gravel with sparse vegetation because of the crushed stone/gravel. The trash is mostly across the street (where there is perhaps overgrowth/lush vegetation) but there is some by the warehouse at 85 Commercial Street, too.

Due south (toward the parkway on Commercial Street) there is a black boxspring or mattress on the other side of the road from the warehouse at 85 Commercial Street. It is diagonally across the street, not right across the street.

Due north there is a half plastic hub cap (it is less than half, but a good size piece of a hub cap) standing against the curbstone. It is right across the street from the Ocean State Job Lot exit onto Commercial Street.

By the donut shop at the corner there is also some small stuff in the roadway: a paper cup, a round rubber gasket or similar item, perhaps several small plastic items such as nip bottles. They are perhaps disguised by the fact that this road seems very clean and that it was perhaps picked up from a much worse condition prior.

  • 85 Commercial Street Medford, Massachusetts, 02155 - Medford

30-gallon bag of trash, other large item(s) and numerous hand-size trash items among the overgrowth (bamboo)

Mostly on public way or right next to it, along the right side of the road (heading north from intersection with Mystic Valley Parkway) but also some on the crushed stone by 85 Commercial Street (private property, I assume)
