This sidewalk has been uprooted for many years. The city cut down the tree a few months ago but did not repair the sidewalk. I receive many complaints from people “I tripped over your sidewalk” and asking when I’m going to fix it, which obviously I cannot do since it’s city property. Without the tree there as a marker, I believe it’s more dangerous now. Thank you.

    To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to formally notify the Department of Public Works of damage to the public sidewalk located directly in front of my property at 16–18 Golden Ave, Medford, MA 02155. Several sections of the sidewalk are uneven and deteriorating, creating a noticeable tripping hazard for pedestrians.

This request is being made at the direction of my homeowner’s insurance company. They have notified me that, due to the condition of the public sidewalk, they intend to cancel my insurance coverage unless the hazard is addressed. They have provided a strict deadline, requiring that the sidewalk repairs be completed by January 19, 2026 in order for my policy to remain active.

Given the safety concerns and the significant implications for my insurance coverage, I respectfully request that the Department evaluate the damaged sections as soon as possible and schedule the required repairs. Ensuring this work is completed before the stated deadline is critical to prevent cancellation of my homeowner’s insurance and to reduce the likelihood of someone tripping or falling.

If any additional information is needed or if access to the property is required for inspection, I would be happy to assist. Please feel free to contact me at 781-608-3124 or [email protected].

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter and for your continued efforts in maintaining safe, accessible public walkways.

    Sincerely,

    Andrea Saunders-Correa
    Owner, 16–18 Golden Ave

Sidewalk needs repair or redone. I have lived here for 40 years and nothing has been done since then. I am over 65 years old and when it snows cannot shovel because surface is uneven and when it rains lots of big puddles. Also getting moisture down the basement because rain water is going towards house because curb is damaged and partially missing. I have called several times HWP and all I get is I am on list

Fulton Spring Rd west of Fulton St needs serious improvement. sidewalks are non existent or in bad shape and the west side of the st near Fellsview Ave has none which makes it very dangerous, especially with the very steep hill that cars cannot see past. Walking with a stroller is extremely dangerous and residents are having to put up our own signs.
