City of Medford PLUS

Please see #10533517. There are 2 requests. First is speed management- which has been referred to the Medford Police. BUT there was a second request to designate Suffolk St and probably Woburn St (at the High St intersection) as "RESIDENTS ONLY" during morning and evening rush hours. This is done in many similar neighborhoods in Medford. MANY drivers try to shortcut the Winthrop rotary by turning off of High St onto Woburn and then turning right on Suffolk. They race down this otherwise quiet neighborhood needlessly creating a dangerous situation. The same "Neighborhood Only" restriction should also be placed on Essex St at High St because if Woburn and Suffolk are "Neighborhood Only" drivers will race down Essex instead.

At Newton and Grove it is difficult to see traffic without going out into the road. Mirror or other change is needed.

As a daily rider I am having near crashes now with riders flowing the wrong way on the lane, instead of utilizing the correct side of South Street with the sharows

Can we get signage up for bikers tat it's one way and not to go the wrong way, please? Some e-bike will cause a ghastly crash if that's not happened yet Thank you

Cars coming off the rotary onto Foubtain street do not realize it is a 2-way street. Better signage needed

Cars driving on the wrong side of the road is a daily occurrence

Although it seems obvious that no parking is allowed along the community garden on Winthrop, ie in the right turn lane, people constantly park there. This creates problems with the turn lane because people get into the turn assuming the parked car is turning. Then the car has to get back over and go around them creating unnecessary traffic delays in an already busy intersection. Please add a sign to make it crystal clear.

No stop sign at end of Clayton Ave People constantly just drive onto Medford St without stopping

There is no STOP sign at Wason St & Highland Ave. Since this is a cut through from Fulton St, there are a lot of near misses for MVA's at this intersection.

Reference #11170580. When is the next meeting? Amy Ingles, has this been resolved? Are we able to prevent drivers from using Essex St, Whitman Rd, Wyman St., and Chandler Rd. as cut throughs during peak rush hour times? I believe that this is what #11170580 is referring to. Of course it is hard to enforce, but a sign would do a great deal in deterring people from speeding through our neighborhood and causing major traffic back up for the residents who live here. More needs to be done about this.
When is the meeting that this will be discussed and is it open to the public? I believe there are many in this neighborhood who would like to attend (even virtually).

Stop sign/confusing traffic pattern. I had no idea that the intent was for traffic to all go to the one stop sign when approaching Grove St until I saw another post on SeeClickFix. If there is no intent for a "right turn lane" to continue without pausing, something needs to be done to mark it, given how wide the road is and given the faded markings that are confusing. A city representative asked for suggestions- a Yield sign for those turning right, a second stop sign for those turning right, barriers blocking the unmarked lane, or diagonal lines telling drivers not to go there are all options that might help to either stop the right turn traffic or to instruct them to go to the existing stop sign.

Can we put up a pedestrian activated light at Salem St & Hadley Pet. It is extremely dangerous to cross Salem here with the three way traffic.
I witnessed a car pulling out of Hadley Pl almost hitting another car on Salem. Is there any way to improve the traffic flow at this intersection?
