  • 3rd St & Broadway Cambridge, MA, 02142, USA - East Cambridge
    The intersection of Broadway and Third is quite busy with a lot of nearby construction. The signal has an accessible pedestrian signal but the audible signal does not sound at all points of crossing. The crossing from northwest corner to the northeast corner does illuminate with a visual but there is no sound to alert visually impaired travelers. It also is very difficult to hear the onset of the walk signal when crossing Broadway due to the ambient noise.

    Bus stop erroneously says no bus service; has done so for the past couple weeks at least. Bus stop at putnam and western.
  • Blanchard Rd & Concord Ave Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA - Cambridge

    High conflict area between crossing sign and right turn for cars from Concord to Blanchard causes repeated unsafe situation. There is no delay between the crosswalk signal and the cars turning right onto Blanchard, making it incredibly unsafe and contentious to cross Blanchard along Concord. This is also a very high volume traffic area making it unlikely that there will be a break in turning traffic during the pedestrian light at most times of day.

    Please post a sign about yield to pedestrians in crosswalk or change the timing such that the crosswalk has protected time away from right turning traffic. I have had multiple close calls at this intersection in recent weeks.

    Concrete base under pole is irregular shape and sticks out onto sidewalk and is hard to see, creating a hazard for pedestrians. Please spray with pink or orange so this can be seen easily. I did trip on it once when I was approaching to press the button for the pedestrian walk signal and slid into the gutter. Now I know it us there and know to avoid it but not everyone does.

    The walk signal going northbound across third street on the east side of the light at Broadway/third does not display a walk signal as long as it should. There is about a 15 second period where a "don't walk" is displayed yet there is no conflicting movement. Please assure this light is properly timed.

    Is there anyway for the traffic signals at Vassar and Main to be readjusted? The light as you enter the intersection from Vassar by the Collier Memorial is very misleading. I’ve almost continued on thinking it was a green for me because the signal for Main is angled more towards Vassar than the Vassar Street signal is - in the photo I’m stopped at a red light. I’ve seen other people make this mistake and jam on the brakes or continue through the red.
