Very leafy tree, hanging over yard. I don’t know much about trees but it seems like it could use a trim.

    Dear Public Works Department,

I’m writing to request assistance with a Honey Locust tree located in front of my home. Several of the branches are pressing directly onto my roof, and I’m concerned that they may cause damage, especially during storms or high winds.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could come assess the situation and trim the branches as needed to prevent any potential issues.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

    Sincerely,
    Joan Abrams

the tree has a branch that is beginning to hang dangerously low. there is a tall blind person that walks the St daily and I fear in the near future it will be low enough for him to walk into. thank you

I request that the tree in the street with a large branch over the roof be pruned or cut down. This branch is putting the house at risk of storms, damaging the roof with the green moss created by the leaves, and blocking the gutters. In addition, some people have come to our door to complain about the large tree blocking the sidewalk on busy Hawthorn Street.
Thank you for your attention and future arrangements.

Hi. As the owner of 46 Reed St, this is my request. Since you'll be working on the sidewalks on Reed Street next week, I'm asking that you remove this tree and plant one in front of 42 Reed where there was a tree that died and was recently removed. Honoring my request is a win/win. We won't be loosing a tree, we're simply placing one in another location. This would also provide much needed sunlight to the tree in the front of my yard, as well as the vegetable crops my wife grows each year. Thank you. - 10/31/2025

sidewalk tree looks dead or at least in very poor shape (no green leaves at all)
  • 208 Prospect Street Cambridge, MA, 02139, USA - The Port

The upper branches of the large tree in front of 210 Prospect St seem to be dying / partly dead - they do not have many, if any, leaves on them.

This is a mature tree that seems to otherwise be in pretty good health, and it would be great to see if some judicious pruning of the dead branches would improve its overall health.

I would prefer not to see the tree cut down / replaced, but if the city arborist determines that that is the best course of action for the tree, so be it.

A pile of branches has been in front of the fire hydrant shown in photo, at intersection of Green Street and Bay, for about a week. Originally this material was by the curb at the property on opposite side of Green Street.
