  • Massachusetts Ave & Temple St Cambridge, MA, 02139, USA - Mid-Cambridge
Trucks and cars are frequently double parked in the bike lanes on Mass Ave. This is dangerous for bikers, as it forces cyclists into the car lanes. I urge the city to find an solution and work with delivery services and Uber Eats/Doordash drivers in finding a safe and designated place for 15 min parking. It’s great to have bike lanes, but it’s not great when bikes can’t use them.

I posted this a few hours ago and it was blocked. Why? Parking in a bike lane is illegal. It needs to be enforced. Nothing I said was reason for blocking. I am just a cyclist who cares about their personal safety as well as everybody else on the road.

  • Somerville Ave Cambridge, MA, 02140, USA - North Cambridge
Two MBTA vehicles parked in bike lane. This is a very dangerous spot as the visibility is low coming downhill around a corner and it forces bikes to swerve out into traffic unexpectedly.
  • Brookline St & Waverly St Cambridge, MA, 02139, USA - Cambridgeport
Please add the flexible vertical barrier poles to separate the bike line from the cars at this corner, heading north on Brookline Street and turning right onto Waverly place!! There are currently line paint and bumps in the road to deter cars from driving in the bike lane, but they are not effective. This morning, as often is the case at this specific turn, I almost got hit by a car driving a full 2 feet into the bike lane. This turn is a public safety issue, that could be easily remedied by adding 3-5 poles to separate the cars from bikes around this corner.
