  • Cambridge St & Hampshire St Cambridge, MA, 02139, USA - Wellington-Harrington
This is what a normal day looks like from 3-6pm... This is NW bound Hampshire St traffic passing through this intersection.. As you can clearly see the traffic is backed up all the way to Prospect st from Cambridge st. This is because the traffic light only stays green for 10 seconds for the NW Bound Hampshire St traffic... I've complained about this before 6 months ago and was told it was resolved but clearly it has not. My suggestion would be to increase the NW bound hampshire st green light from 10 seconds to 20 (It seems like the traffic issues started ever since they reconfigured this intersection)
  • Alewife Brook Pkwy & Massachusetts Ave Cambridge, MA, 02140, USA - North Cambridge
Traffic signal needs to be green longer for Alewife Brook Pwky during morning and evening rush hours. Causes heavy traffic back ups.
  • Garden St & Waterhouse St Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA - Neighborhood 9
Yellow lights do no turn on to flash on both sides when you click the button.
  • Antrim St & Cambridge St Cambridge, MA, 02139, USA - Mid-Cambridge

During the morning and evening commute on the pole immediately to the right of the driver (in the northwest corner of the intersection) there is a solid red light AND a blinking yellow right arrow, along with a permanent No Right on Red sign hanging from the pole. It seems that the purpose of this yellow arrow is to indicate the driver can turn right with caution for the bike lane, however with the red light remaining illuminated, the driver is also told by the hanging sign that they cannot proceed right.

This results in a very large number of confused drivers per day who will sit through the entire traffic cycle waiting to turn right while not a single car can go through. The practical outcome of this is that cars behind them become so frustrated that they eventually swerve around the car in the front partially crossing over the double yellow into the northbound lane of Hampshire street. This creates an incredibly hazardous situation to drivers and pedestrians.

  • 1–7 Beech St Cambridge MA 02140, United States - North Cambridge

I know there have been a ton of complaints about this intersection but I haven't seen this one I think. Currently the lights going west on Mass Ave go pedestrian walk sign, then bike green light, and then car green light. I think this makes a ton of sense because it allows pedestrians to cross without getting run over by bikes and then let's bikes clear before cars turn right onto Beech St.

But I think what ends up happening in actuality is the pedestrian walk sign goes on and the bikes take off. I've seen a pedestrian wait for the bikes to cross until bikes have cleared through. So I think unless anyone is going to enforce the bike traffic light which I assume isn't going to happen. It seems pointless to have that extra waiting time between pedestrian walk and bike green especially in an intersection where all the traffic signals are already pretty tight

Crosswalk button off pole, but does work
  • 213 Prospect St Cambridge 02139, United States - The Port
The yellow flashing pedestrian crosswalk signal doesn’t turn on using the button on the west side of Prospect Street. The button on the East side works.
  • 2407 Massachusetts Ave Cambridge, Massachusetts, 02140 - North Cambridge
Please, please re-set timing on the traffic signal on Mass Ave (heading toward Arlington) at the Linear Park Crossing to stay green a few second longer than the one at Cameron Ave. Cars are unable to turn right off Cameron Ave for multiple signal cycles. Today just after 1:00 pm, after no vehicles were able to exit for 3 cycles, drivers began doing 3 point turns to reverse direction and leave through Cameron Ave Somerville--very dangerous. One driver from the end of the line got so fed up that s/he crossed into the other lane of traffic and raced down Cameron Ave in the lane against traffic and ran the red light at Cameron and Mass.
  • Pleasant St & Putnam Ave Cambridge, MA, 02139, USA - Cambridgeport
There needs to have a traffic light at the Putnam Ave and pleasant st intersection. It’s very dangerous especially at night and having no traffic light means more danger.
  • 1384 Cambridge Street Cambridge, MA, 02139, USA - Mid-Cambridge
Need traffic enforcement for cyclists - cyclists regularly fly through red cycling lights in Inman Square (both in and outside of the new bike lanes), endangering pedestrians and themselves, and interfering with the flow of car traffic, which leads to increased honking.
  • Mt Auburn St & Putnam Ave Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA - Riverside
Currently, cars coming from Mt Auburn and turning left on Massachusetts Ave towards Harvard Square often do so recklessly and risk hitting pedestrians crossing at this moment. However, if the crossing permission for pedestrians was during the moment when the cars can turn left on Putnam, it would be a much better moment to cross. Is it possible to change the crossing light cycle?
  • Beech St & Massachusetts Ave Cambridge, MA, 02140, USA - North Cambridge
There are multiple complaints about the very short cycle time for the turn from Beech to Mass Ave — and now it has reached a critical point. This is creating a dangerous, frustrating, and unnecesarily adding to a difficult situation. Red line shuttle buses are clogging the entire street and part of Elm St. before the Beech St turn. Only one single bus can make the turn at Mass Ave per cycle. The timing issue at this light is impacting commuters of all kinds, from the buses that will deliver already frazzled T riders late to Harvard Station, the people living in Beech who are not able to get out of their driveways, and pedestrians who have to dangerously navigate around buses at the Beech and Elm intersections when frustrated drivers who cannot see around the buses are ready to accelerate when they see a gap. What will it take for this timing issue to be corrected?
