    Pedestrians are dangerously cutting through the loading dock area and directly into the designated bike lane. I nearly collided with a student who suddenly came through the grass area without looking.

    This has become an ongoing safety issue involving both students and neighborhood residents who frequently walk through the bus turnabout and loading dock instead of using the proper shared lanes . Their path not only puts them at risk of being struck by cyclists or service vehicles, but it is also causing severe damage to the newly installed botanical landscaping along the perimeter.

    For the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and to prevent further destruction of the foliage. Please install perimeter fencing or another protective barrier to clearly guide foot traffic and prevent cut-throughs. Immediate attention is urgently needed before someone gets seriously injured. Please also provide signs to make pedestrian and cyclist aware to not use the bus turnabout.

    Thumbtacks were scattered on the bike lane on Hampshire Street going eastbound between Prospect Street and Tremont Street. On Thursday night my bike wheel was punctured with about 15 tacks. Another person I know found 8 tacks in their bike wheel. Today I cleaned up about 30 tacks, but there are probably more hidden under leaves. This bike lane should be swept clean to remove this boobytrap, which could cause a blowout and accident.
