Plumbing inspection with cameras shows collapsed pipe in front yard (done April 9 as part of due diligence effort for prospective home buyers).

This collapse may have occurred due to use of a skid steer in the front yard to demo concrete sidewalk as part of the sidewalk update a few year ago (possibly 2019).

I observed a similar crew at my current residence in Sugar Land (also First Colony). However, this time they did drive the skid steer on the front yard but kept it in the street.

I am concerned that the collapse may have been caused by lateral overloading and suspect the root growth from the smaller live oak tree nearby was secondary.

Please advise how Missouri City would like to proceed.

There is a contract for home sale of this property with closing date this month April 30, 2024.

Can MO City issue a letter this week or next indicating their intent to repair the sewer line by Q4 2024 or Q2 2025?

This would provide the buyers assurance that they will not carry the expense for the repair. This would greatly alleviate the current situation. I would hate to loose these buyers (current tenants).

They have done such a great job to keep up this home and have committed to pay for roofing update over the next few weeks.

There then would be no need for legal action (supposing that a letter of commitment can be issued soon).

There is a second photo (not yet submitted) that shows the probably location of this damage by use of a handheld metal detector used during the in-pipe video session.

The location is basically about a few feet from the sidewalk (That is why I say it can be seen (or at least the location) can be seen from the street.

I would be happy to email that photo as well as soon as we get the email exchange going. I would be happy to email the survey which I have on file for your evaluation.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

    Regards,
    Justin Wong
