I’m reaching out on behalf of concerned residents in the Stratland Estates neighborhood in Gilbert, Arizona. A 5G tower is currently being constructed on the corner of our community park—less than 50 feet from nearby homes. This installation is happening with no meaningful input from residents and in apparent violation of the Town of Gilbert’s own ordinances regarding wireless infrastructure placement.
When questioned, the Town of Gilbert has claimed that state legislation ties their hands, effectively absolving them of responsibility and allowing telecom companies to proceed unchecked. However, local ordinances appear to directly contradict this project, particularly regarding setbacks from residences and community spaces. Despite this, the city has not intervened.
This tower not only disrupts the character of our neighborhood and park, but it also raises concerns about health risks, decreased property values, and a lack of due process. The community was never properly notified or given a chance to voice opposition before construction began. It feels as though state interests and corporate convenience have been prioritized over the well-being of the families who live here.
We are asking for your help to investigate how this tower was approved, whether proper legal and procedural steps were followed, and why local ordinances are being disregarded. t

The Town dug a hole in my yard next to the sidewalk and left it there. It is a hazard.

I recently learned that a 5G tower is in the process of being installed in the heart of our neighborhood. I am requesting that the city please take action to stop the installation. This tower is intrusive and could easily be installed in an easement, public street corners or other area.
The residents of this community were neither informed nor consulted concerning the placement of this tower.
Convenience for corporations should not be placed above residents. We pay the property taxes for the land that we live on and should be given a voice in such matters. This tower will affect our property values, possible health concerns as well as setting precedent that wireless companies don't have to abide by the building codes, public notices and infrastructure that governs other construction.
Town of Gilbert, do not remove yourself from this conversation. Your involvement is essential. For all the things we love about living here and appreciate our local government for, do not walk away when big corporations are involved. Ultimately what happens on the neighborhood level has a ripple effect on our town.

I am a concerned, resident in Stratland Estates. Without our knowledge or consent they have started erecting a new light pole next to n existing functioning one, and will be putting Verizon 5G on it. My concern is not only about the negative health impacts this will have on the people living near this pole, but it is also aesthetically unappealing. We moved to this neighborhood for many reasons, and chose the location because of the beautiful park. Now instead of beautiful green bushes on that corner we have 2 new metal boxes and WILL have an ugly gray looking light post that doesn't match our aesthetic with an obscene 5g antenna that will be placed on top of it. I'm a REALTOR and have worked with enough clients to know this will impact our ability to sell our home, and will cause us to take a financial hit if we do sell it. I don’t understand the thought process of putting this in the middle of a neighborhood. These utility poles should be put next to major roads on the perimeter of the neighborhood. Can you please disclose the process and the permitting required to make this decision. Is there anyway this project can be stopped and moved to another location away from our park? Also who is getting paid by Verizon to put this here? e
