    What is the story with Welcome Home Veterans Park adjacent to the Gilbert Police and Fire buildings? I remember the groundbreaking for it and now construction is at a stand still for well over a year. How is it that two other much larger parks in south Gilbert are being completed but this very important one honoring our service members is in limbo? It’s a disgrace.

    The Town has stated that homeowners are responsible for maintaining landscaping within the public right-of-way and has required residents in College Park Country Estates to sign a Covenant of Ongoing Landscape Maintenance or remove their trees. However, the Heritage District neighborhoods continue to receive Town-provided tree and landscape maintenance in the right-of-way.

    Why is the Town maintaining those areas if this work is supposed to be the responsibility of adjacent homeowners? The policy should be applied consistently across all neighborhoods.

    We are beyond frustrated! There is a tree sitting behind our property on the Chambers of Commerce parking lot that has completely infested not only our yard but our neighbors’ as well. We are constantly battling this—spending our weekends cleaning it up and even hiring professionals every month to remove the invasive growth. It’s become an ongoing headache that’s both inconvenient and expensive.
