When will the traffic light be installed at Higley and Bridges?
  • 2701–2713 S Recker Rd Gilbert AZ 85295, United States - Gilbert
Please Please put a traffic light on the corner of Recker and Sommerton. I've almost been hit with my babies in the car- with everything being built and Legacy it will be a nightmare. It already is. When the school is in session it's near impossible to leave the development safely and it's just getting worse.
  • S Recker Rd & E Riggs Rd Queen Creek, AZ, 85142, USA - Gilbert
The intersection at Riggs and Clubhouse Dr is becoming increasingly dangerous and more and more accidents are occurring here. A traffic light at this intersection would benefit the safety of all! People drive way to fast down the 6 lanes on Riggs. How long does something like this take to get approved and installed? Thank you for any info and help.
  • 2747 S Recker Rd Gilbert AZ 85295, United States - Gilbert
When is the street light @Recker & Somerton Blvd. being installed? The traffic @7am and 2:45 pm is absolutely dangerous due to the Legacy School drop off pick up. The 2:45pm pick up has Legacy School parents blocking both Recker and Somerton Blvd. This is a mess and no one can get home and must try to navigate around it via the middle lane that isn't a lane for driving or wait in a very long line.
  • S Higley Rd Gilbert, AZ, 85298, USA - Gilbert

The west entrance/exit to the Bridges at Gilbert on Higley just south of Queen Creek Road has been needing a traffic signal for years. The road leading out of the development is 4 lanes - Higley Road is 6 lanes. It is very difficult to make a left hand turn out of the development, especially during rush hour, I called the Town of Gilbert over a year ago inquiring in to the plans of putting in a traffic signal and was told that there was a plan to put in a signal at this intersection. Here we are over a year later without a signal although one had been put in on the Queen Creek and Recker intersection (a 2 lane road intersecting a 4 lane road) near the east exit from the Bridges at Gilbert community and the Queen Creek and Lowe's/Gilbert Regional park intersection (another 2 lane road intersecting with a 4 lane road). I saw that there was a major car crash several weeks ago at the intersection above that I am concerned above. Are we waiting for a fatality before a signal light is put in (if one didn't already occur at the above mentioned car crash)?

Please let me know what the plan is for putting a traffic signal at the above concerned intersection and why we're spending tax dollar on lesser intersections.

  • E Bridges Blvd Gilbert AZ 85298, United States - Gilbert
On May 18, 2023 Clinton replied concerning the upcoming traffic light installation at Bridges Blvd and Higley Rd. The Town was waiting on SRP approval for the new traffic lights at the intersection. It is now August 10, 2023. It seems as though it is not SRP that is causing the delay. The traffic lights were originally suppose to be installed in the spring of 2022. Would like to know what true delay is. The 1200 residents located in The Bridges have been waiting patiently for these traffic lights. Any update?
  • S Recker Rd & E Riggs Rd Queen Creek, AZ, 85142, USA - Gilbert

According to the "RTP Draft Needs Catalog, V1 – September 4, 2020" (https://azmag.gov/Portals/0/Documents/MagContent/RTP-Projects-Catalog-090420v1.pdf?ver=DsPnjXcm6y7H3kJl1txHjw%3d%3d), in 2020, this intersection was proposed to receive a traffic signal:

    "Gilbert GLB-20-RTP-041 Riggs and Recker - TS1500
    Roadway and Intersection

Design and installation of a major arterial traffic signal at the
intersection of Riggs Road and Recker Road/ Clubhouse Drive,
and connection to the signal system. Program, Intersection
    Improvements"

Three years later, this signal has still not been installed, traffic volume continues to increase on Riggs Road, and drivers routinely speed at 60+ mph in this 45 mph zone. I have encountered at least five accidents in this intersection (including one yesterday).

According to https://data.gilbertaz.gov, accidents at this intersection doubled between 2021 and 2022 (https://data.gilbertaz.gov/datasets/police-accident-calls/explore?filters=eyJBZGRyZXNzRnVsbCI6WyJFIFJJR0dTIFJEIC8gUyBDTFVCSE9VU0UgRFIiLCJFIFJJR0dTIFJEIC8gUyBSRUNLRVIgUkQiXX0%3D). In the mornings, Casteel HS students who drive to school, many of them new drivers with little experience, must turn left at this intersection at one of the busiest times of the day with the sun in their eyes. In the afternoons, much of the Riggs Elementary school pickup traffic turns left, also at a very busy time of day.

Please consider raising the priority of installing this signal at Riggs Rd and Recker/Clubhouse Dr, for the safety of Seville residents and all others who pass through this dangerous intersection.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and concern regarding the recent construction of the overpass in our beautiful city of Gilbert. As a resident and a concerned citizen, I believe it is crucial to bring your attention to the issues that have arisen with this infrastructure project.

Firstly, I have noticed that the overpass has not been properly painted, giving it an unfinished and unattractive appearance. The lack of a suitable paint job not only detracts from the aesthetic appeal of our city but also raises concerns about the longevity and durability of the structure. A properly painted overpass would not only enhance the overall beauty of our city but also promote a sense of pride among its residents.

Additionally, I have observed cracks in the newly constructed overpass. These cracks are not only unsightly but also raise concerns about the structural integrity and safety of the bridge. It is of utmost importance that these cracks are assessed by qualified professionals and repaired promptly to ensure the safety of the commuters who rely on this infrastructure daily.

Considering the significant investment made in constructing this overpass, it is disheartening to witness these issues. As a resident who takes pride in our community, I kindly request that you take immediate action to address these concerns. I believe it is essential to rectify the paintwork and undertake the necessary repairs to eliminate the cracks on the overpass.

Furthermore, I encourage you to investigate how such issues were overlooked during the construction process, and ensure that appropriate measures are implemented to prevent similar oversights in future projects. Our city deserves well-executed infrastructure that reflects the high standards and values we hold dear.

While the Recker road widening project is on hold/out for rebid, can someone from the town walk the sidewalk on the east side of Recker between Ray Rd and the freeway trail. I counted more than 20 significant sidewalk heaves in that section. It would be great if these could be addressed while everything is torn up.

Hello, I am requesting a traffic light at the intersection of Higley and Bridges Blvd. This is a very busy intersection, especially during peak traffic times. There is also a lot of speeding that occurs on Higley and a history of frequent accidents at the nearby intersection of Queen Creek and Higley. I know this has been requested before, and my understanding was that this was being worked on. Is there any update on the status of this project? Thank you.
