    Midges have become unmanageable in our area. Beyond being a major nuisance, this feels like a health and quality-of-life issue, and it reflects poorly on local conditions. So far, I haven’t seen meaningful action or improvement from the City of Gilbert.

    This is also creating real financial impact. Potential buyers recently walked away from a neighbor’s home specifically because of the midge infestation. If this continues, it could depress home sales and negatively affect property values across the neighborhood.

    At this point, we should escalate through the HOA and explore legal options. I recommend the HOA engage a law firm to evaluate what remedies may be available, including whether there is any basis to pursue action against the city for failure to address an ongoing public nuisance.

    I’m contacting local news stations about this. Gilbert is completely ignoring a neighborhood that has been overrun by insects due to the cities own stupidity and neglect. These recharge stations can’t be in use if it causing this many bugs. It’s just standing swamp water. Somehow Chandler recharge sites and the recharge stations at the Gilbert Riparian Preserve are managed without infestations of insects. Some reason this site is not able to be managed appropriately and the city ignores the communities complaints.

    Hey Roy- can we either get some fogging or drainage from these cesspools? Nobody can go outside and enjoy their own property due to the midge flies. All we get is “acknowledged”. I know for a fact someone who works for the town made it known to you that there’s a problem. Personal friend. And nothings being done. Lawsuit to the city for negligence and causing a health hazard? It’s out of control with no action while raising water prices and “testing me water meter”. I bet my water usage explodes and I’ll be the in same boat with the rest of the people who’s water bills are inflated incorrectly. What’s the next step to a solution?
