    This is a blind intersection for residents making a left turn from Robinwood Lane onto Hayne Road The traffic coming down Hayne are frequently traveling at high speeds A mirror is needed at the end of this T-intersection to allow residents on Robinwood Lane to see if traffic is coming down Hayne Road in order to avoid an accident
  • 2900 Ralston Ave Hillsborough, CA, 94010, USA - Hillsborough

    Hello, I would like to report how dangerous the hairpin curve on Ralston is in the morning during school days. Last week my daughter and I were walking our dogs and a car came within 4" of hitting my daughter. We were on the correct side of the road, saw the car coming and moved as far off of it as we could (there wasn't much room due to vegetation), yet we were almost hit. The driver stopped and said he didn't even see us due to the sun angle. The driver is a very safe and responsible person who wasn't speeding.

    This portion of the street, the hairpin curve between 2900 Ralston and 2800 Ralston, has no safe walking zone outside of the street and has very poor visibility due to high hedges and the sharp turn. Cars coming downhill cannot see pedestrians walking uphill in front of 2805 due to hedges, and cars going in both directions cannot see pedestrians around the hairpin turn. This is particularly problematic between 730 and 830 am when cars are speeding down Ralston to get to Crocker (some at least double the posted 15 mph speed limit), construction workers and landscaping trucks are coming uphill for the day and when there are children walking/biking to school or residents out for a morning exercise. It is only a matter of time before a person or pet gets hit, or before there is a head-on collision caused by a car moving across the center line to avoid pedestrians or cyclists.

    I would like to ask that you consider one or several of the following options:
    - Much better and more aggressive signage warning people about the danger around and below that curve;
    - Significant speed bumps from 2915 down to below 2800;
    - Flashing lights at the top and bottom of the curve when there are pedestrians on the roadway;
    - Potentially restricting traffic to one way between 7:30 and 8:30 so there is a safe walking / riding zone.

  • 2111 Forest View Ave Hillsborough, California, 94010 - Hillsborough
    Construction worker trucks/cars parked on a narrow street. Some days there are 12-15 cars blocking the road. Since the road is narrow and there is a blind curve - traffic gets clogged and it is unsafe. Small cars can barely squeeze by each other, however, bigger cars and trucks cannot
    get by incoming traffic.
    Not sure what the solution is - but it is not safe.
  • 915 Parrott Dr Hillsborough, CA 94010, USA - Hillsborough
    Speeding eastbound downhill on Parrott Drive, dangerous situation compounded by lack of sight distance while speeding cars crest the hill. Please address via speeditigation measures. Current treatment of speed feedback radar sign has proven ineffective.
  • 1365 Southdown Rd Hillsborough, CA, 94010, USA - Hillsborough

    Hello,

    I am writing to request that improved signage be installed in this location to adequately warn drivers of the danger of the upcoming road danger and require them to reduce their speed to safely navigate it.

    The upcoming section of road is extremely dangerous given the sharp curves, downhill slope, hidden driveways, and narrow road. Currently, a high percentage of drivers fail to stay within their lane while heading downhill here as they do not slow down sufficiently to make the sharp turn within their lane. This results in several near head on collisions.

    Last night, a driver approached the turn at a high rate of speed and crashed through our fence and into our courtyard. A few more feet and they would have plowed into our living room and/or 200' into the canyon. If I had been walking my dog or backing out of my driveway, I might not be here now. Here is a video of the incident: https://youtu.be/hCaQe2c31Gk

    Please improve the pictured signage ASAP. First, the current signage indicates a right turn first. This is incorrect. The road curves aggressively to the left. This sign would be more appropriate: https://www.amazon.com/Curvy-Road-Warning-Sign-Warranty/dp/B00J9D1QPC

    Second, there needs to be a slow down or speed limit sign. There used to be a 15 mph sign there but it was removed. Did the City remove this?

    Given that many drivers do not obey signs, I request that the City install a speed hump at his location. This is the only way to effectively slow down traffic prior to the downward slope increasing at the sharp turn. This will also reduce the amount of traffic that uses Southdown Road as a cut through to lower Hillsborough instead of the safer and less residential Black Mountain (which requires a bit more distance to access).

    Please let me know how the City plans on responding. Thanks for keeping our families safe on these dangerous roads.

  • Barroilhet Ave & Hillsborough Blvd Hillsborough, CA, 94010, USA - Hillsborough
    Request to have two motion-activated, illuminated stop signs north and southbound on Hillsborough Blvd - I have been involved in 2 near-misses in 3 months, and have seen multiple collisions at this junction. When traveling north or southbound on Hillsborough Blvd, its not apparent that there's a cross-road because the road is deceptively straight - therefore drivers just plough through. Please advise, kind regards.

    Reflector sign on metal post has been flattened on sidewalk in front of my property.
  • 950 Link Rd Hillsborough CA 94010, United States - Hillsborough
    Street sign not
    Visible, blocked by bush
  • 15 Orange Ct Hillsborough, CA, 94010, USA - Hillsborough
    Street sign unnecessary, place on private, reflects into residences
  • 1263-1291 Kenilworth Rd Hillsborough, CA, 94010, USA - Hillsborough
    There reallly should be a stop sign or at least a yield sign installed on Kenilworth where it merges onto Marlborough at the west end / top end of Kenilworth. Cars come flying out of Kenilworth onto Marlborough without even looking and I’ve almost been smashed twice in the past month.
  • 30 Laureldale Rd Hillsborough, CA, 94010, USA - Hillsborough
    Hello. Every other elementary school in Hillsborough has 15 mph speed limits around campus. Why not South? Despite the stop signs, there is a high volume of through traffic given proximity to El Camino and downtown San Mateo. Slower speeds will decrease the number of drivers who fail to stop at the El Cerrito / Stonehenge intersection in front of South and the District fields (AYSO and HLL).
