City of Decatur PLUS

The security(?) lighting at 104 Hillcrest Ave produces an excessive glare which is visible from my rear deck, kitchen and bedroom from approximately 4:30 p.m. until approximately 8:30 a.m. It appears to exceed what is allowed by the zoning ordinances, as the glare is coming from one very bright light on the rear of the home, and enhanced by 2 additional lights on the sides of the home.

There is a white van parked on Fairview street, which has been there for at least 6 months. The owner doesn't live on Fairview, yet resides at 212 Ridgeland Avenue. This van is an "extra" vehicle for the owner and has been parked there so long that scrub has been growing out from underneath. This vehicle is practically abandoned, and is not only very unsightly, but unsafe to have parked there. Perhaps it can be cited or towed away?

Another swimming pool emergency exit gate that is chain locked, preventing emergency egress. Only exit from Ebster pool is through main entrance, which is also the most likely place that a fire would be, preventing anyone from exiting. This is very serious. Not sure how this is allowed at a city owned property.

Over Growth of trees as you approach Glenn Creek Nature Preserve. Roadway is diminished in height and by overgrowth coming over curbs.
Roadway at intersection of Ridgeland and Fairview Street is crumbling. Area around Triangle is in need pf street repair. Large hump in the roadway is making two way traffic impossible between Ridgeland and Sycamore.

Noise so the garbage recycle truck moved to 4 am. Oh. My what an improvement- Not. Stop the noise violations in the City. We deserve the same respect as the single family housing. Back up signals blaring every Monday and Friday at 3-4 am. Illegal. Stop it

Yet another unregistered vehicle at the neighborhood used car dealer on the street. One of 4 unregistered cars on the street. Can we do something about this unregulated business?

This house at Pate and,Hillyer Place continues to get more and more deteriorated. In the last 2-3 years I have watched it get more and more run down, and in the summer the lawn is often not cut. It is and eyesore and unsafe. Now that the bricks are missing under the front porch, it could be a haven for people and/or rodents too.

This house has visibly deteriorated over the past 3 years. The grass and weeds in the yard are at least a foot high. This building should be condemned and demolished!

As neighbors we sent a certified letter asking for the exterior light to be within code and the property owner placed blue painter's tape on it which does nothing. The bright light comes on at dusk and stays on through the night. It doesn't have a sensor, no timer.

Old car with 4 flat tires abandoned /parked in street for years! Literally years!
