Is anyone else sick and tired of Ross Valve polluting our neighborhood?
They'll tell you that their emissions are 100% legal but that's a lie.
The DEC is currently trying to force Ross Valve to clean up their emissions but Ross Valve refuses.
The DEC case against Ross Valve has been going on for years.
The Coke (coal by-product) they burn emits massive amounts of poisonous sulpher into the air of our neighborhood.
You've probably noticed that they almost only pollute at night now. This is because Seton Health and St Marys hospital are less active. Seton Health and St Marys hospital have both complained about Ross Valve but still, nothing happens.
What does it take to make Ross Valve stop sending poisonous fumes into our neighborhood?· Reported by Smoke hater · Flag Flagged

There are no speed limit signs on Oakwood Ave.
If you're traveling on Oakwood ave torward hoosick street... the first and only speed limit sign is way up on Oakwood ave BEFORE Oakwood cemetery! At that's a temporary sign built out of 2x4's.
By the time drivers get to middleburgh ave and the long HILL, they've forgotten what the speed limit is. I regularly see drivers exceeding the 30mph limit by 10-20mph.
I'm sure it'll take a pedestrian or a child to get killed before the city puts proper speed limit signs on Oakwood ave.
The attached picture is just west of middleburgh ave in the area where there are no speed limit signs. If you live in the area of travel through oftne, you recognize these homes.· Reported by ted · Flag Flagged
Frear Park Rd Troy, NY 12182, USASidewalks are desperately needed along Frear Park road. The lack of sidewalks in this area make this park unfriendly to pedestrians. I run through the park on a regular basis and can't count the number of times I have almost been hit. Speed control measures such as speed bumps are also needed to slow the traffic down that uses this road like a race course.· Reported by Sarah · Flag Flagged
302 Hoosick St Troy, NY 12180, USARoute 7 (Hoosick Street) from the bottom of Alternate Rte. 7 to the intersection of South/North Lake Avenues is horrendous! Bump after bump and pothole after pothole. I drive this route everyday to get to I-87N, and I'm surprised my car is still in one piece.· Reported by Angela · Flag Flagged
Hoosick Street Troy, NY
Hoosick street needs to have its cross walks repainted and make sure all the buttons work. I know the buttons haven't worked at either side of the big lots plaza for months.
Also, the lane diver lines are so worn away that drivers cannot even see them anymore. Tourists drive up and down hoosick in the middle of the lanes because they think it's a one lane road.
I see the city finally fixed some of those dangerously sunken manhole covers on hoosick near the sidewalks. But, when will they fix the rest? Why is hoosick always overlooked like this?
In other rants...
I drove down campbell ave the other day and couldn't believe what a mess that still is. I hope the city decides to fix it?
What's the deal with rte 2 over by the cookie factory? They've been "working" (I use that term loosely) over there forever! What a mess!
I'd like to know why 87 N & South have mini speedbumps roughly every 30 feet? Anyone that drives that highway knows what I mean. These speed bumps are dangerous. Especially, on a motorcycle. What can be done to fix them? And when?
Also, what's the deal with paving just the sides of the road on Plank road/rte 142 in Brunswick? They have done this in the past where they pave about 8 feet of each side of the road but leave the center unpaved. It looks horrible and half finished. How much more effort and money would it take to paved the whole darned road folks? The edges where the old and new pavements meet is dangerous for motorcyclists.· Reported by easy fixes · Flag Flagged

Fane, Gallivan, troy sand and gravel commercial trucks all use their jake brakes when they drive down this hill numerous times every day of the week. Mot of these trucks are emitting way over the amount of decibles allowed by law but they get away with it because the police don't "police".
Please TROY POLICE, come to oakwood ave between middleburgh ave and hoosick street and give tickets to these trucking companies that are blatantly breaking the law and disrupting the neighborhood.
Also people speed way over the 30MPH limit on this road because there are no speedlimit signs anywhere. See video below. That is a regular occurrence on oakwood ave.· Reported by dawn · Flag Flagged

The "beaver hill trail" near 16 Oakwood Ave needs to be fenced off to prevent the steady stream of drugs, crime and vandals coming from 10th st. to Oakwood Ave.
The city permanently fenced off and locked the "stairs trail" between 10th St. and Oakwood Ave (a bit further up from Beaver Hill Trail) but they ignore the crime pipeline that is the Beaver Hill Trail.
If Beaver Hill Trail was closed off, the crime element wouldn't keep walking up to Oakwood Ave to transport drugs, break into and vandalize our vehicles.
I've watched (and yelled at) these little ghetto rats throwing rocks at houses and cars numerous times. We've had both of our vehicles windshields broken from rocks being thrown at them. That cost us $450 out of our own pockets to have repaired!
I know it's not city owned but it has become such a problem that the city should just come close it off. Whoever owns the property now obviously doesn't live nearby and doesn't maintain the area.· Reported by Don · Flag Flagged
Intersection Of Oakwood And Frear Ave Troy, NY 12180, USACars exceed speed limit on Oakwood Ave. It is dangerous to exit Frea park on to Oakwood especially turning south on Oakwood. Frear Park Golf CourseVoted best in the Captial District last year by Metroland readers, Frear Park Golf Course is a REVENUE generating facility for the City of Troy. With the elimination of the Recreation Supervisor Position, a hole in services has been created since no one appears to be responsible for tending to the course. The condition of our top-notch municipal golf course is a disgrace. Sand traps are supposed to contain sand not rough and the greens should be green not tan.· Reported by The Dartlady · Flag Flagged
