1665 Central Ave Saint Petersburg 33713, United States
The current construction has the sidewalk closed on both sides of the street with a temporary sidewalk created w. scaffolding on the south side of Central. Two dangerous issues. 1) The temporary sidewalk desperately needs lighting. It is dark, narrow and uneven and NOT safe. 2) Pedestrians are forced to cross to the south side of Central to continue on temp sidewalk without enough warning to cross at the previous traffic lights. Car traffic does NOT stop as pedestrians step onto bricked crosswalk. A button activated flashing pedestrian sign is needed, both of these issues should be paid for by construction companies. Developers are making a lot of money and changing DTSP very rapidly. They need to be held responsible for keeping auto, bike and foot traffic flowing safely in the process.
