No, the City does not provide Yard Waste Bags. You can purchase the city approved bio-degradable bags from Home Depo, Lowes, Walmart, and Kroger.
No, and the approved compostable bags are expensive and flimsy. They are available at Lowe's, Home Depot, Costco, etc. Don't buy too many at a time as they degrade even when stored inside and will fall apart when you try to use them if they are too old.
I have bought some at Golfcrest TrueValue Hardware on Telephone road that are heavier duty than some other bags I used to purchase.
No. They require you to use certain ones if you want the city garbage trucks to pick them up. there's more info here: http://www.houstontx.gov/solidwaste/compostablebags.html
You have good info on leaf bags- and if you want Txdot number try the nonemgency HPD and ask- 7132223131
The new number for HPD Non-Emergency is 713)884-3131
If anyone has any recommendations for bags that do not easily rip apart please reply!
