Europe has had electric locomotives for generations. Why don't we in North America? We have access to millions of watts of clean energy via our hydro developments. We should be using hydro electric power to power our rail system not diesel fuel.

& Railway engines should be adopting higher energy efficiency standards similar to the improvements being made in the automotive industry.
