Description

There is no sidewalk on either side of the south end of Richardson St. This is a problem because it forces pedestrians to walk in the road. Richardson St is a major route for kids and families walking from South Meadow to Champlain Elementary and anyone else who maybe walking in this direction. There is one gentleman who gets around in a wheelchair who has to navigate traffic just to get to the sidewalks on the rest of Richardson St. Cars are often parked along the sides of the street which create a small corridor for cars to pass through. When pedestrians are also in this corridor it is very unsafe. I have seen and been part of many close calls between cars and pedestrians along this strip of Richardson St.
