Description
Ok, so you travel down Clifton Avenue, from Griffin Hospital toward Pershing Drive.
You come to a stop light that has two lanes.
WATCH OUT FOR PEOPLE who make a left turn from Pershing onto Clifton!
The intersection is aligned so poorly, there's almost a head-on collision daily.

Isn't Pershing a state road? I was certain it was because the state held up the Walgreen/Valley Bowl projects because IT had to approve the entrance and exits to the new developments. If that is the case and this intersection is overseen by the state.... that would explain why Ansonia can't change it.
Not that someone from the City of Ansonia should have filed paperwork with the state to have it looked at.

I am glad the sign was replaced and thankful.
However, the design of this intersection is one of several problems Ansonia never addressed when allowing additional development downtown such as Target.
1. This intersection's design is HORRID and was constructed before a large volume of cars used this road to get to Target and Big Y from Route 8 South so it's long overdue for re-design.
2. Similar problems happen on Main Street near Shell. Cars back up 10-20 deep at the light near Division because Main being one lane each way is not enough at peek hours and on weekends with cars trying to leave the two shopping centers downtown or get to them.
BOTH are State roads, but I would think Ansonia would have requested a review of the roadways by now.
