PW Staff Update: Thank you for sharing your observations/request. Please note that this storm drain inlet/catch basin location (and the other nearby location also subject to a similar report) is a priority location that has a trash capture device installed within the catch basin to intercept and block trash discharges to the storm drain pipes. This device also blocks and makes any trash or leaves that have made it to the inlet readily apparent to passers-by from the street level. These devices/locations are subject to routine quarterly maintenance/service cleaning. A further update on the next service interval is pending.
PW Staff update: The next routine maintenance/cleaning event for the municipal trash capture devices, including this subject location, is scheduled to start the last week of the month, consistent with the quarterly maintenance plan.
Routine quarterly maintenance cleaning of the trash capture device at this storm drain catch basin has been completed. The accumulated trash and debris was removed. Leaves and windblown trash may continue to collect near the inlet mouth of this catch basin, but will continue to be subject to routine cleaning/removal. Questions regarding the City's trash discharge reduction program can be directed to the City's Public Works Department's Environmental Services Division.
