Description
Why do the police continue to let prostitutes run rampant up and down Ferry Street and the side streets? This just increases drug activity and brings in more undesirable people. These prostitutes are also dealing for the dealers to get their drugs and I see the police pass by and do nothing, looks like the police do not care and have given up on Fair Haven, which was once a nice area to live in. What do we need to do to have the police do something??? Each time I call the police take forever to get there and the girls disappear and the dealers hide and when they do stop any of these girls the girls walk away laughing what a slap in the face to the good people in the area

Your list above is dead on, very active areas most of the day and night. If everyone's on the same page and knows where the hot spots are, why doesn't the NHPD do something? Maybe they can't arrest everyone, but at least use those areas for when they stop and park and drive by these areas often. This would deter people from stopping to buy drugs or sex.
Thanks

I have a friend that works at the New Haven Register that has a cousin who is an executive at Channel 8, I can give him a call and see if he can reach out. I can also see if the paper can do anything, but newspapers are pretty ineffective these days.
On a side note, on my way to a family members house earlier, I saw at least 6 prostitutes in broad daylight on Ferry from Lombard to Chapel, no telling how many I missed or on side streets or working. I can't really spot the dealers during the day, but this is just ridiculous how this can be in the middle of the day with children and families walking around going to school, work, store, etc. sickening. And what makes it worse is that I also saw 3 police cars and not one of the girls even flinched.

Only 3? Must have been a slow time.
Now when I see a prostitute get picked up and I follow them and if they park locally, which they often do, I just park right behind them and beep or flash my high beams at night, you should see how fast they move and the John's either kick them out immediately or drop them off. More people should do this and maybe they'll get the hint.
Do you think this happens in the richer neighborhoods or where the cops live? I don't think so

Lt. Johnson has been extremely helpful and has urged all to call whenever we see these girls and don't feel like you're calling too much and maybe we can stop this garbage.
Thanks

Tell Lt. Johnson that the dispatchers are being rude, I let another Lt. know and he said he will speak to them, they have no right to be rude, if they are get their number, usually 3 digits, which they are supposed to identify themselves, if they don't they can get in trouble, don't let the dispatchers intimidate you, they work for YOU.
Skelator is a good one, he looks like the walking dead like the prostitutes and I think he also prostitutes as well, guess you get pretty desperate.

That Michael/Skelator guy is one creepy dude, how is he not dead, he can definitely scare small children but all you have to do is blow on him and he would fall down.
As far as the girls, I do see a decrease, lets see if the NHPD keeps this up, only saw 3 girls this morning a week or 2 ago I could count up to 15+.
I haven't seen the pregnant girl in a week, but did google her and she has had multiple arrest and a not very flattering mugshot online, having that picture public would be enough for me to get clean LOL.
Haven't seen Cathy or sister or daughter in a while either.
I have seen the blonde (Yvonne?) and Melissa and hear they both have HIV, shouldn't they be arrested for attempted murder?
I'm not even sure if most of these "girls" are even girls they look like men in drag.

As a Fair Haven homeowner for over 10 years I can attest to all the illegal activities from drugs to prostitution and the lack of police response. In fairness, I am not saying ALL cops are bad, however, the ones I have had to deal with have said to me, "don't you see where you live, what do you expect?" or "why don't you just move." As if moving solves the problem, but that has been my usual response.
The LCI specialist lacks efficiency in responding to calls and it's unclear what she's doing directly to solve the issues being reported. As for LT. Siclari she's been much better at responding in a timely manner, but again what they say they'll do and what happens is inconsistent. Nothing has changed, but our safety continues to be compromised with the continued illegal prostitution and gang violence.
It is unfortunate that as a working professional & homeowner I have to uproot my children out of fear for our safety, but nothing seems to change for the better and things are getting worse. At this point, I am sick and tired of being sick and tired and with young children that have special needs from hearing loss to autism, I can't keep living in this war zone. I finally decided last night that it was time to go, especially after one of the drug dealers made it a point to approach us saying he knows we call the police.
This is not a place to continue to raise healthy children. My 6 year old has already said to me, "momma I'm too young to die," after a recent drive by shooting near our house. We're raising our young children in fear and as a result will have PTSD by default of where we live. It's sad to think when I purchased my home at the age of 28, I was showing my kids the value of hard work and determination - a dream come true. However, now it's a nightmare and I can't wait to get out. I'm ready to walk away from my home considering it's not a seller's market and I owe more than what the house is worth. If you can move do so for your peace of mine I waive the white flag. They can keep every street in Fair Haven and do what they please as the bad guys keep coming and the good guys like us get the short end of the stick.

New haven does not police prostitution unless they receive a specific call but as we all know by the time they respond, even if 5 minutes, the girls are picked up and gone. The police know who all the girls are but turn a blind eye.
Cathy, along with Melissa have been arrested numerous times for prostitution, drugs, robbery, etc but still walk the streets 2 of the biggest scumbags in FH, my brother was friends with Cathy's cousin and they all gave up on her.
