Zoning Dept: Received same info via phone call. Went to site next day, spoke to homeowner. He is buying a business and moving it to the Akron area. Has loose ends to clear up and will have business gone in 30 days. Trailers in back yard are on concrete, legal plates, and were to be emptied same day. Debris in trailers from renovation work to home on Logan. Asked for this to be cleared up ASAP- meaning move the business and clean up back yard. Already has made improvements to the property since he moved in.

The owner sure pulled one on the city, none of tge debri in the back yard is from the home on logan ave.he brings debri home EVERYDAY.the owner of this property don't even live here.he takes his dog an leaves every night.why don't he take all of his junk to his home

we see the mess every morning- trailers, congested streets, traffic before 7:00A.M.noise loading junk from the night before, driving into Neighbors fences in alley and a total lack of respect for the folks that live here.. and he is not remodeling the home there, just look at it!

After 2 seven day clean up orders from the city, it's still a dump.yeah stacked up all over the property, in trailers an full truck of trash sitting around all the time.if this was near the Mayors house or your house, it would b takin care of PRONTO LIKE. But since none of you live by it, who cares rite? The owners of the property are just playing the city.an we are fed up with it.no matter if it's day or night, these people are making racket and making a mess

If the city took this complaint seriously,I would nt still b picking up trash from my yard and all over Carmen Ct between 15th an 16th

4/11/14 The items on the vehicles/trailers are being taken up by Zoning for running a business in an area zoned otherwise. Unfortunately at this time, Code is unable to cite these items. If it should find its way anywhere but the "movable storage vessels" it is contained in..... I will cite accordingly. If anyone has a question about this..... feel free to contact me... The trash is not completely contained in the trailers. Stuff is along the garage and house. Firewood covered by tarps is right up against the frame house...is this not a fire hazard? The trash is blowing all over the neighborhood. The owner is running a business. The Mayor would NOT tolerate this if it was beside his own house. What can we do?? We are trying to improve our neighborhood and encourage people to move into the city. If junk places like this are allowed to exist, we might as well give up now and move out. Please, please, PLEASE help us!

My turn for a couple pennies.... if anyone has bothered to check the taxes on the house you'll find it is NOT owner occupied. So tell him to get his crap out of there and take it to his home! Cite him and be done with him. He isn't doing the neighborhood or the city any favors. Time to take a hard line and quit pussyfooting around with someone that's playing you. He does NOT need 30 days to remove all his business equipment and operate it somewhere else. It's MOBILE!

4/14/14- Zoning to site, photographed whole property. Left letter and mailed letter to homeowner advising business activity to end by Sunday, April 20th, 2014 or charges will be filed.

4/14/14- Zoning Inspector went door to door, 2 houses to north and 2 houses to south of violation site. Spoke to one neighbor about situation, other locations- no answer, left card. Neighbor claims most of blowing trash from apartments at 17th & Market N. We discussed the whole area and complaints.

my question is who is this guy and is his business licensed and filing taxes or are we dealing with somebody that could be breaking the law right in front of all of us because we are not asking right questions and actually getting factual documents to support such business that is or was for sale so where is the evidence i agree with john l that we don't produce proof like filing taxes and who the property owner is and is it registered rental property????????

Zoning Dept: The City's Tax Dept has been notified. If he does work requiring permits, the jurisdiction where the work is performed would require the permit and if he works in other City's, he'll need to pay taxes in those areas too.

Don't know why the Zoning comment is messed up at the end- it should say "...other City's, he'll need to pay taxes in those areas too."

So since he is still working out of there... has he been cited now?

Still blocking the alley with trucks an trailers.and I'm sure their not working out of the property

This truck an trailer blocked the alley Saturday afternoon for more than an hour loading an unloading junk.he still is obviously is still running his business from home. Today, Sunday, his employees were making all kinds of noise at 7:15 in the #@#?ing morning.this past week he ran his business as usual, he just has his employees park all over the neighborhood instead of just on logan.

I say we block him in Monday morning then call the police and get them involved as a way to get this issue resolved. We will get 6 Neighbors to respond. as to send a message to the city that we will no longer stand for him to block the alley and load our streets with work related trucks,trailers etc.

Hound falls under the police .... noise ordinance. Unless the dog is loose then it would be the Dog Warden which it didn't sound like it was. LOL and oh btw it's now the 18th.... of May ..... Is anyone out there listening?

Hey Frank Morris .... I know you get notifications for all this .... can you get us some answers about this?

From my interactions with council, if any of you can obtain photos this weekend and send them to council directly via email (I'd post them here as well) you might get a better response. Your council person is your first "chain of command" step, then Frank, who is taking up a lot of slack for under-performing councilpersons. Frank deserves a round of applause for his obvious concern for this site and constituents in wards other than his own.

Oh, and if it's not resolved by the June 2 council meeting, please bring it all downtown for show and tell during public speaks.

5/30/14- Zoning Dept: spoke to homeowner- said business has been moved to another site. Stated no employees to property, meeting in a.m. at new site. Noted the grass needs mowed and a general clean up of the yard is needed. Boxes on back porch need moved to new business site.
