And I'll comment that yet ANOTHER tag went up, this time on the BRAND NEW control boxes for the lights on State Street.

One more thing, then I'll stop flooding people's inboxes with this. If this isn't fixed soon, I fear that our brand new bridge that is about to open will get tagged and defaced within days after it opens. LCI, can there at least be an acknowledgment of this? It really looks terrible.

LCI? Any acknowledgement on this issue? Please don't tell me this is a city/state issue.

Unfortunately, I have the New Haven Preservation Trust meeting/holiday party at the same time! I'll be at the Wooster Square meeting tomorrow though!

LCI will follow up with our removal crew about all of these tags.

Pedro, sorry for the delay, but we are dealing with a lot of issues right now.

We will remove this in the near future.

Also, the new bridge will be a target so please keep your eyes opened for criminal-taggers and call the police ( lol) if you see a kid with a back pack & spray can.....perhaps Santa is watching...or maybe he'll expand his Watch area to cover both bridges!

I'll definitely keep my eye out on the new bridge. I've been waiting 3 years for it, and I'd hate it to be defaced!

Why exactly do they obstruct our view of the train tracks with those solid panels (ripe for graffiti). In my opinion whoever owns the bridges could solve several problems at once simply by replacing the solid panels with some sort of cast iron or steel fencing. (When I visited London a few years ago, I noticed all the cast iron fences had signs on them saying "warning: anti-climb paint." This, along with dangerous-looking spikes at the top of the fences should be enough to deter suicides).

Brian,I think the big reason is more to prevent items from being thrown into the tracks and interfering with rail operations rather than to prevent people from jumping onto the tracks. The new Grand Ave bridge has glazed glass blocks that you can look through and that lets in a lot more light, but still consists of a (much more attractive!) wall.
