Something needs to be done about this immediately. It shouldn't have to escalate to this level to ensure the safety of our neighborhoods.

Stop the violence!

Getting the City Attorney involved has helped for similar trouble spots in town.

When will this get referred to city of Oakland nuisance abatement? Does someone have to die in the club or are 10 shooting incidents outside the club (with multiple people shot) enough?

There have been numerous shooting related incidents on nights when New Karribean City is open as well. City Attorney? Council Members? Mayor? This is an issue that our leaders can fix.

Why does an April notification stay on the "boards"? Has anything been addressed? BTW those of you who moved in AFTER the club was opened should do your homework better. I used to live in that neighborhood and didn't complain of noise from outside of my building. My building had no business attached to it (1428 Madison). I only complained about bad tenants that were NOT there at the time when I moved in.

Until the bad person gets caught and is made to clean up, it is the property owner's responsibility to clean it up. In a country that has such poverty, it would be great if we paid people to pick up litter and clean graffiti. I would be happy to have my tax dollars pay for this.

I disagree with the idea that your right to a live safe and civil community are determined by when you joined the community. If someone, a group, a business is breaking the law then you always have the right to raise your voice to seek justice. If we're going to nit-pick... I know that the apartments in the area pre-date the club. So the club owner knew they could run into trouble with residents if their business negatively impacted the area. Everyone needs to be civil to one another and find a way to coexist. In my experience club owners don't focus much on being good neighbors to the community they profit from.

You may disagree but it is always caveat emptor especially when moving into a new neighborhood. Clubs normally move into business neighborhoods and the club you are referring to is designated as business. You should move into a nice quiet neighborhood in Oakland. We have lots of those.

Sadly citizens empathy, acceptance and apologies for the violence, dumping and graffiti is part of the problem.
