googletransitdatafeed needed for CT Transit.
I believe you are in luck:
“CTTRANSIT to join Google Transit
CTTRANSIT hopes to soon be a participating transit system with Google Transit.
We have submitted our route and schedule information for the Hartford, New Haven and Stamford divisions to Google. This data will allow their web based trip planner to develop itineraries for CTTRANSIT customers.
The go live date for CTTRANSIT's information is up to Google based upon their workload and business conditions.”
OK. I submitted the following comment using CT Transit's online feedback form:
"I'm very excited to hear that CT Transit has submitted route and schedule data to Google! I was wondering if the data are in Google Transit Feed Specification format and, if so, whether the data could possibly be made public, either included as an announcement on this website, or uploaded to the Google Transit Feed Specification data exchange website (gtfs-data-exchange . com).
With the increasing sophistication of cell phone technology and the increasingly wide-spread use of the internet, there are now a wide range of independently produced, web-based applications to help make transit attractive to a wider range of people. However, these applications are available only for transit districts that make GTFS data publicly available on the Internet. If CT Transit has already prepared GTSF data for Google, I think it would be really great if that data could be made public.
As usual, CT Transit responded to my inquiry with awesome speed. Here's what they had to say:
We are still in the process of testing the data feed in a private Google preview site. We are very close to working out all the issues with the feed. Once we are live with Google, I'm certain we will make the data available to the public."
Sweet! CT Transit rocks!
This is awesome!
If they can get next bus type data next this would be really valuable an totally innovative on the part of CT Transit.
