Ditto. IT has gotten worse. Since the WHPD decided to no longer put the pedestrian crossing cones (e.g,. the ones on Campbell Ave at UNH) on Beach St, I often wait for 2, 3, 4, more cars to pass before one finally lets me cross. At night, I have an arm band with a bright flashing LED, and something similar on my dog's collar, but it's not that they don't see me, it's that they can't be bothered. But nothing tops an occurrence at Beach St and Morse the other night, when four east-bound cars, all going well over the 30 mph speed limit (which is not observed and NEVER enforced) zoomed past me, followed by a fifth vehicle, a WHPD SUV, also either ignoring me or oblivious to me, and no, the driver also did not pull over any of these speeding vehicles, but rather, was one of them.

Public works or police departments should put up the reflective yellow signs at the cross walks. Sometimes you can not see the stripes on the street.

Those yellow signs, not much larger than an 8.5x11 piece of paper, are worthless, and they are ignored most of the time, probably because in the absence of the deterrence of speeding enforcement, people are going too fast to be bothered with trying to read the signs' tiny font.

Thanks for clarifying, Nana. That sounds far smarter than what we have on Beach St, which are as good as having nothing at all.... in keeping with how most drivers (including at least one member of the WHPD) treat the crosswalks. Can you provide a location of one of these larger signs? I'd like to check it out. Thanks
