Already an open issue on this. These cars werent racing, regular traffic with someone trying to dart across summit avenue from sherman place.

We will conduct a preliminary traffic assessment to determine what type of traffic control is warranted at this intersection. The preliminary assessment will also help identify if a more in-depth study is required. Please allow 3 to 4 weeks for the preliminary study to be completed.

Thank you, Samantha. My hope is that we can have either STOP signs installed, or the blinking pedestrian YIELD signs, like the ones that were just installed on Central Ave. at Reservoir Ave.

I emailed the Councilman and Mayor about the Summit traffic situation in November. Its very bad along The Reservoir and Pershing field as well. The Flashing pedestrian lights do nothing. The cars do not slow up much less stop for them. I have come close to being been hit multiple times using the crosswalks with flashing lights.

Hello - this was flagged many months ago and I was hoping for some follow-up. The situation has become worse since the winter, as the parking barriers along Summit (which allow drivers approaching from Sherman to see oncoming cars better) are no longer in place. Drivers approaching from Sherman have to creep very far into the road so they can see both directions, and this is extremely dangerous. A 3 way stop is necessary.

Also, in my opinion, traffic/pedestrian studies may not be the ideal solution here. I say this because, as a resident of Sherman Place, I have seen people go out of their ways to not cross here. Inconveniencing pedestrians for the sake of drivers does not seem like a winning solution.

All in all, it is a very dangerous intersection and the fact that the process is this slow is disheartening.
