The funeral home considers Buzzell Lane an extension of their parking lot, regularly blocking in the cars of residents that park one the street. The excuse/reasoning is so that all cars can partake in a funeral procession, but that's honestly a pretty bad reason to make the residents of neighboring apartments suffer from a traffic jam and informal street closures that are entirely decided by the staff of the funeral home. At the least, shouldn't a cop or someone from the city be in charge of this instead of just citizens? I live nearby and have had several times of being stopped RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY APARTMENT unable to park for nearly 10 minutes because they're directing traffic. There's no signage or any indication streets are being blocked by the funeral home, and when cars are just parked in the middle of the street, this makes drivers (who then are just stuck in the middle of the street) honk their horns at empty cars, which is a disturbance that's completely unnecessary. It's crazy that for several hours a day, the funeral home is given complete control of the surrounding streets and allowed to direct traffic and tell people where to park as they please, even if it keeps cars of TAXPAYING RESIDENTS OF MEDFORD from being able to leave their street spots.
