The owner of the restaurant has removed most of the stuff outside so big improvement. However, the very old, NOISY, decrepit fan has not been replaced, running for up to 12 hours/day throughout summer and early fall, a constant disturbance and health risk to both abutting neighbors, one of whom never uses his outside porch and yard due to the noise, the other one often driven inside by the constant cyclic clatter.

We neighbors continue to wait for the very old, decrepit and NOISYfan to be replaced. First very polite request made in April, 8 months ago. New owner (since May) unwilling to share any definite plan for replacement, is generally unpleasant and non-commital on rare occasions when asked for progress report.

After some initial improvement, now again lots of unhealthy waterlogged and rotting materials on two sides of Sebastians (2-4 feet from neighbor's homes) are left for months/years. That trash and standing water are magnets for rodents, mosquitos and contagious disease. Also, we've now waited a FULL YEAR for relief from the racket of the (still) decrepit, LOUD, dirty oven exhaust fan blowing a few feet away from our back doors and porches all day/all night every day. Sebastian's Pizza is the only commercial property on our entire block. It's also the only property that's filthy and a health hazard. PLEASE Health Department, help us.

Unfortunately, the failure to properly dispose/contain food waste has not surprisingly led to a rat infestation in their property which extended to my garage. I had to have all the interior drywall and all the fiberglass insulation that was in one of the two garage bays removed and am now paying for regular extermination service. This was quite predictable.

It is clear that EFFECTIVE ENFORCEMENT measures needed to be taken quite a while ago, by BOTH the Health Dept to REQUIRE the restaurant operator to finally and continuously manage the restaurant and property according to the State Public Health Code. This ineffective approach should not be still going on after 2 and a half years! The owner knows he can continue putting customers and the neighborhood residents at risk. The State Health Code should be enforced! Enough with the warnings and directives. It's time for the Health Department to impose fines and, if ineffective, temporary closure of the business until Sebastian's owner complies with the Massachusetts Health Code.

The facts: The rat attraction problems CONTINUE to persist. Any routine visit would (and has) shown any inspector the long term accumulation of piles of wet deteriorating trash items outside the restaurant, VERY close to the abutting and other homes.
I see other food establishments in the neighborhood where containment and removal of trash is routine practice. Tthe Mass. Health Code applies to every restaurant and they SHOULD BE ENFORCED. This disgusting situation should never have been allowed to go on this long.
