Description
The utility/drainage easement is not being maintained by the city. Trash, debris and water are being allowed to collect here creating a health hazard and breeding ground for mosquitos and west nile virus.
This easement runs along my parent's property and they are a retired couple and should not have to take care of an issue that is the city's responsibility.

Dear reporter
You may be disappointed to learn that the City may have purchased the rights of access through your property ,many property owners ago. The City may prevent you from building on that portion of your property. But YOU still have to maintain it and pay TAXES on it.
If this easement is not actually on your parents’ property then it is likely owned by your neighbor. All the above applies as well.
Good luck

Also a city employee did come out and look at the area. He threw a mosquito dunk in the drainage culvert and said he did not know who was responsible for maintaining the concrete culvert/drainage swale but he would look into it. He also said they would come back and clean up the other side of the culvert. We are waiting to see what happens next.
