As if the West Brook Rd bridge isn't narrow enough, now this persistent pot hole on the right side of the east bound lane, dead center of the bridge has people swearving to avoid the patch. Many of the trucks going to and from the quarry speed and cross the double yellow line on West Brook Rd - they're killing the bridge faster than necessary with their big loads. And, they continue to destroy other area roads, too. All of West Brook Rd. is quickly deteriorating in Ringwood from the quarry to Wanaque Ave. And Wanaque Ave is nasty from West Brook Road south through Wanaque. Too many ruptured seams and pot holes to pin point. Get the quarry to fix these roads if the town/county/state can't afford it. Where's the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act" money to fix these roads? They did the north end of Ringwood/Wanaque Ave and they did Hamburg Turnpike - but, the worst of it is in between! 513 through Wanaque/Haskell to Ringwood at West Brook needs serious help!

The over sized patch has deteriorated and isn't too bad now, but the area east (toward Ringwood Ave) of the bridge, just as you make the turn, is miserable again. I saw the guys working on Conklintown Road, they just hurl a couple of shovelfuls of asphalt in a hole and move on... not a wonder the roads are so miserable in Ringwood.
I don't know who did the restructuring work further south on Wanaque Ave in the first two phases, by that road was a mess right after they finished the work, so I hold out no hope for any relief with their crappy Phase 3 work. They must have gone with the cheapest bid. Sorry... they did an awful job on the road so far.
Yes, I had heard the W Brook Rd bridge would be started soon... saw the surveyor's on the barge for weeks last Fall marking something out, somehow. I hope they build the new bridge before they demolish the old bridge because the traffic detour to get to Skyline Drive will take an extra 45 mins!!! That would be the way I would require it to be done if I were representing the people of western Ringwood!
