I agree. The flashing pedestrian sign was put in place to allow pedestrians to cross safely and cars still don’t stop. There needs to be a light here or a stop sign or something else.

Thanks very much for the response. I hope all options are on the table, not just traffic signals. Signals would not fix the speeding, and might make it worse. And every crossing on the hill is an issue for pedestrians, not just the one at Waldo Ave. Considering that half the problem area is in Ward E, is Councilman Solomon involved as well?

How long are these discussions with the mayor going to take? This is a very serious safety issue. I cross this street at least three times a day with my dog. I am absolutely sick of having to argue with drivers who refuse to stop. It is extremely scary to cross and hear screeching tires as you cross because the cars are speeding and are almost going to ram into you. You don’t even have a cop patrolling the area for speeding in the meantime? Literally anything? This has been an “ongoing” issue now for a very long time. This building was built three years ago and now there is a commercial space being put below which will only cause my pedestrian traffic. This needs to be addressed ASAP.
