The CT Department of transportation does not have a bike rack. There should be a least one to demonstrate that they value bikes as a transportation option.

Amen! The DOT is eternally backwards, since they can't ask for huge chunks of the state budget to do environmentally friendly projects like bike racks. The Q-bridge? No problem!
My X has worked for the DOT for 25 years now. They are blind, deaf and dumb, not to put too fine a point on it. They are still pursuing an idiot plan for a busway on old railroad tracks from New Britain to Hartford, 2 cities which lack jobs to an extreme, while they REFUSE to add any of the metro north stock to go from New Haven to Hartford every day, even though 91 is a parking lot every day. It doesn't even have a diamond lane.
A great, small cost idea, and one in which they have assuredly no interest. The last time I visited the Taj Mahal (3 years ago) I don't think there was a bike rack, although a large number of employees work within biking distance, although my daughter tells me this has changed.
