Description
The tenant at 15 Myrtle Street moved out Friday and left a huge pile of rubbish blocking the sidewalk and blowing into the street creating a pedestrian and traffic hazard. The trash/recycling won't take it on pick-up day because there is small furniture and unbroken down boxes. Trash pickers and animals are getting into it and scatting the contents all over. There is a "For Rent" behind the mess with an out of town phone number.

Thanks City of Lowell! Your guy came yesterday before curb collection and put orange "Won't pick up" stickers on all the trash. I was walking my dog and found these items scattered out into the street from the spilled piles of rubbish- Deep sea fishing lures and hooks, over 3 inches long, mixed in with children's art supplies. I'm glad I discovered them and not an animal, car tire, shoe or curious school kid walking to/from the bus stop. I went back and swept up the public health hazards and put them safely in a bin.
You need to follow up with the landlord to get this mess removed. It is not my responsibility!- The "For Rent" sign is now gone or buried under the ravaged trash pile- Phone number 801-671-4360. Maybe I should have called the police or The Lowell Sun to get some responsible civic action. Pretty outraged Myrtle Street Resident.
