Description

Northbound Traffic must not run the yellow light here at Cranbury Rd and Old Bridge Tpk. Summons issued by South River police jump 54%in July 2005 to 2006. I got one making a right on yellow! The cop said he watched it turn red while I was in the turn!

Theres a rule of yellow lights being lit 1 second for every ten mph for the road speed limit. Northbound OBT is 35 mph. that should be a 3.5 second yellow light. After I paid my violation i observed this yellow light. It changed from green to red in 2 seconds. I don't know if they have corrected it or the cop has a trigger switch but I no longer drive through [or shop in] South River.

Sorry to the shop owners and tax collectors in So River.

South River should be avoided at all costs. The cops make $25k/yr to start and so they need to prove themselves and will give you a ticket for 26 mph in a 25. They hide all over main st mixed in with the parked cars or in the elks lot and especially in the old Laffin lot.

The police in South River AND East Brunswick are notorious for giving tickets for going thru a yellow/amber light. The law states that if you are in the intersection before the light turns red, you are allowed to proceed. The cops have a favorite phase and it stinks. "Who do you think they are going to believe, You or me? What that means that they are just making money for the towns and don't care about doing the job properly.
