I agree that it needs to be lowered and enforced. A month ago I signaled a left turn at least 20 feet at Marsh Landing , a woman in a brown buick was driving so fast that she could not stop, she veered to my right into the bushes and just kept going as if nothing happened..luckily that day there was no cyclist, joggers or pedestrians.

Just inforce the 45 MPH now. Some people think it's a speedway already.

When I pull out and get up to 45MPH I have drivers coming up on me at well over 50, I have even been passed when I was doing 50, like I was standing still.

One time when I looked in my mirrow I saw a YOUNG girl smoking in one hand and talking on a cell in the other, she was steering with two or three fingers, scarry.

I hope the appropriate people are seeing these comments. This road is a speedway. No berm. It is unsafe whether you are in a car, walking or biking. I get it that we don't have money for sidewalks, but lowering the speed limit should be a fiancially viable solution to the problem.

Lower the speed limit and post signs to help people be aware of pedestrians or bikers.

That's funny I have lived off of bacon rd 10 yrs in my own house and 8 yrs growing up in the same neighborhood and I have ALWAYS thought the speed limit was 40 not 45. And as far as not having $$$ for sidewalks, didn't the twnship just get granted a bunch of $$$ for improvements? I thought I read in the paper they got a bunch of$$$

Many people are in such a hurry on this road and fail to slow for pedestrians and bicyclists. Thank you to the kind people who do slow down and give wide clearance when passing a bicyclist.

No do not lower speed limit. Those bicyclists shouldnt even be on the roads. They are a hazard.

Bicycling is good exercise and a means of transportation for folks who don't have a car.

I always slow down for people walking/running/biking however they sometimes act as if they own the road. They should not be in the middle of a lane. Also, the other problem is cars driving the opposite direction of me swerving into my lane to avoid the people instead of stopping. I don't want to get hit head on because some idiot can't slow down for 2 seconds or someone feels the need to run in the middle of a street that is currently 40 mph. The other day I saw a woman pushing a stroller down the street with a chile in it. That is called stupid!

I agree with you Kim! I also saw that stupid, stupid woman walking a baby in a stroller and just about fell out of my car! What I dont understand is why people dont go ride their bike on the Metropark bike path. Its only 10 minutes or so away, and you wont risk your life riding your bike in the street !!!

Drivers need to use common sense. Obey speed limit. Many people on Bacon Road exceed the speed limit. Riding or walking on a road should not mean that I am risking my life. Each of us needs to drive responsibly. I have not seen the woman in the stroller, perhaps she has no car and is walking to the store for food??

This is a old problem but still exist. This a picture of a speeder that came flying down Beacon Rd. and whent over double yellow lines to pass cars, going about 60 or 70 MPH. Maybe some neighbors will know this car and slow this driver down.

The speed on this road is so excessive. There are no sidewalks. Drivers need to slow down when passing walkers. Slower drivers and bigger berm is needed.

I don't know why this came up again, but it's a good idea to talk about. There have been hundreds of homes built in the last five years and another 250 plus more coming on the old golf course. (Hope they get a lot of flood insurance). The traffic already warrants a stop light at some intersections during heavy traffic hours now. As more and more homes are being built I can see bumper to bumper traffic down Bacon. With all those homes why not build sidewalks? This would be a nice area with sidewalks all the way down Bacon Rd. I'm sure with these houses paying taxes we could find the funds to put in sidewalks. This would be a good selling point and would help increase our property values.

More housing is being built in this area. Traffic continues to speed. Large trucks hauling (dirt?) from end of Bacon Road to elsewhere far exceed the speed limit. Perhaps unit telling people how fast they are going would increase awareness.

Hopefully with so many home now along this road, a path will be made.
