The storm drains in the low laying areas need to be cleaned out from built up debris. I know as the drain at 76 Cottage St has a lot of built up debris. Of course depending on rain fall amount & water flow entering is a constant variable, but if the storm drains are blocked & volume decreased, there will always be concern. Consistent maintenance is the best that can be done & is appreciated to limit liability. Thank you DPW for being proactive & following up with sub contractors that are responsible.

Just to be clear, this is not the metal storm drain at cottage and countryside. It is the culvert outflow pipe at the edge of the 1 countryside property line. Water is coming in the basement of the house because the water table has remained so high. Thanks so much!

Good point with the clogged culverts increasing the water table. I wish the large culverts under the entrance road to Sanctuary would be cleaned out & maintained as well where the water would naturally flow to the Charles.

Has anything been done to correct this problem?

The water level continues to rise in my backyard. Beaver have been sited recently. Sumpump is working overtime!
