In regards to today's article "Today's Gripe" I would like to submit my gripe about the four way stop intersection at Hopkins/Plains and Center Street. This is Road Rage Hell on earth. I travel through this intersection about 12-20 times week. When more than one car is present it has the possibility of becoming a rage incident in the making because it seems that very few people these days know or care what to do at a four way stop. Last week I was almost taken out by a women on a cell phone who didn't brother to stop. My suggestion is the that the city should look at making this are into a roundabout. They exist Gates Mills and other suburbs, Also roundabout's are common though-out Europe. We waste plenty of precious gasoline and brake life stopping and starting at this location. A roundabout would still force driver's still to slow down but would help to eliminate the stopping/starting and road rage problem that now exists. I know some will stay there is not enough room there. But lets look this another way. It's a challenge for our well traffic engineers that may save someone life some day. Mentor has plenty of money for bike paths how solve a problem that would benefit many more of it'd citizens.
