The residents complied with City Code by moving the vehicle to the driveway. The violation was parking in the grass. There is no law against having an ugly vehicle but we can address a vehicle that has been stored in the exact location for more than a month. We will monitor jeep for movement.
Tad will check the yard condition today and start the enforcement process.
Thanks

Submitted by Maumelle Mayor Michael Watson.
ps It would be easier and you might receive a more timely response if you would contact the City personnel directly or through the City's website "Eyes on Maumelle" section.
Thank you.

No, it has not. The vehicle was simply relocated to the street. I spoke to Code Enforcement about the situation again and he stated that the resident said the vehicle does indeed run but she cannot drive it because she is pregnant. So, she drives the other 2 vehicles. Although, the other residents don't drive it either.
The Jeep was jump started to move a few feet but evidentially will indeed run, if only briefly. So now it sits on the street and the neighbors will simply have have to drive around it for another 3 weeks before it is illegal again, according to Code Enforcement. Then I suppose they will jump start it again and move it back to the driveway for another 30 days and so on. I've done my part in trying to improve the neighborhood, it's now in the hands of the City.
What saddens me is that I moved to Maumelle because I thought that the standards would be highter and he quality of life better, but have been sorely disallusioned.

one (no tags) parked behind it. The second has been there around 3 weeks now. Neither are being used due to mechanical problems. But, evidentally, as long as it's moved to a new location each 30 days it's not a problem for the city. So, really it's pointless for me to complain again, so just call the issue closed.
