Description
Whats nicer than a brand new road? The teens love to drag on it!! A 17 yr. old with a black Camaro (temp tags) went down the street three times at over 70 mph today! He was clocked at 71mph (see photo) with a handheld radar gun, which is very accurate. There is also a yellow Dodge pickup (we'll get your plate and post it here) that loves to go hammer down.
There are about two dozen young children on this street. What will it take....one to get killed? 71mph in a 25....are you kidding me? This street is a bad accident waiting to happen.

I would like to address this. If I could get a good address for the person in question and the best time to try to catch him in the act that would help tremendously. The Police department wants to help but we need addtional information to help resolve this situation. You do not have to leave your name.

Why do you need a good address for the person in question? You said your officers have spoken to the person!!! Have your officers do some police work and get this kid, that is why the citizens of Eastlake pay taxes. We should not have to do the work for you or your officers.
Hopefully the next officer that stops him will give a ticket instead of a, "speaking to".

What I was trying to do is open a direct line of dialogue rather than using faceless communication over a open site. The first post on this was around three months ago and the young adult in question who was "spoken to" on July 9th was issued tickets on Aug 19th and Aug 30th. The reason he was "spoken to" the first time is when there is no on view violation from an officer a citation can't be written. This problem was not ignored we have just been trying to resolve this situation while trying to get the help of the neighborhood that is affected. I also wanted to ensure there was only one vehicle that was being discussed.
When we have more specific information we can target this area as well as other problem areas in the city with the officers available. It would be a poor utilization of "your tax dollars" to have an officer stationed for 24 hours in hopes of getting one reckless driver. I was only trying to relay some information that would help not release the department for the responsibility of this problem.

1. We do not need a dialogue. We need results.
2. After speaking with the young adult once and issuing two tickets, what more specific information or help do you need from the neighborhood ?
3. No there is not just one vehicle involved. Cars and motorcycles seem to think it's OK to drive fast in Surfside. And stop signs are optional back here.
4. At no time did anyone ask you to post an officer back here for 24 HOURS in hopes of getting one driver.
5. You gave this kid two tickets. You know were he lives. We gave you descriptions , locations and a picture. Get the job done.

Yep, he'll have that car piled up this year sometime acting like that. I've seen him out in other cities. But, Eastlake PD are aware, I've spoken to them. Just keep reporting it and keep this dialogue open.
It has been a bit quiet around here, with EPD patrols. On a nice day, after school, there's a red Mazda with school kids in it that likes to fly West to East on S. Lakeshore. And today....we had a silver Honda Civic Hatchback, license FEL 7252, run 5 stop signs as he 'drifted' right through the intersections in the snow.
Ya, its real interesting around here on a nice sunny day after school. Just teach the kids how to be aware of cars and what they sound like when they are accelerating....they gotta get up a driveway, clear of the sidewalk.
