Description
The flower garden in front of the John Zon Community Center is beautiful, but it obscures the view of traffic from the Center's driveway when exiting onto Pleasant Street. Can shorter plants be used to improve the view? I almost pulled in front of someone coming from the direction of Federal Street today because I couldn't see around this growth. I'm sure it will improve soon as plants die back, but it needs some thought for the next growing season.

Volunteers from a garden club maintain the plantings for the Senior Center, not the DPW. It would work best if they got the word through the Council on Aging Director.
And will this same problem sprout up elsewhere in Greenfield as people are encouraged to do pollinator gardens in their curb strips, blocking the view at driveways and intersections? Perhaps the garden club or others can help the city with some advice on shorter plants for pollinators that will also not encroach on the sidewalks.
