Is there any progress on this issue? I was just here earlier for an appointment at Smilow Cancer Center and was told that the sidewalk on that side of the street is Yale property and therefore, any bikes locked to sign posts would be removed. Is the sidewalk not a public right of way? The bike racks across the street at the Mental Health Center are not sufficient as they do not properly accommodate road bikes.
Sidewalks are public property and also signs erected by the city. Inspections for bike rack locations will take place early next week, with installations to follow shortly thereafter. This particular location will be inspected to determine if a bike rack can be installed. Thank you for the post.
